I had posted in another thread about it being suggested the CMLL folks were going to be there, so the names check out. Stardom has a show on Friday, so that may have been too big of an ask, but that show isn’t so important that they couldn’t work around AEW wanting someone.

Successfully defending his International Championship against someone like Samoa Joe, Jay White or the person who costs him victory at Forbidden Door (or one of their associates)?

Seems like it was a timing issue with wanting to quickly resolve the "who attacked Mercedes?" angle with Skye Blue before she moved into her forbidden door feud.

I think that Skye Blue was the plan, but I also do think they rushed it. Don’t know why, but I agree that was a change, you spent over 2 months building her in-ring debut, then you do the second match on no notice to blow off a story you didn’t know what to do with. Sounds like Skye Blue did well for herself though.

Also, Stardom does not seem to have any more conflicts before Forbidden Door. They do run every weekend though, including one Friday which may be tough, but they should have people on Dynamite next week.

Sounds like the PPV did 133K buys. AEW's ability to translate their audience into PPV buys even as they go near monthly with the PPV's is remarkable really.
