Have they ever wrestled as opponents? I honestly don't remember.

I think they'll save Edge vs Christian for a huge PPV event. AEW seems to be pumping them out pretty regularly right now instead of quarterly like in their previous years.
yes. they got broken up so Edge could go solo

WWE would ruin MJF and take away his creative freedom. They'd feed him trash speeches and turn him into another Austin Theory. MJF would find a way to get himself over but I feel he'd still be better as an AEW product.

Very much doubt this.

He wouldn't be saying shit and f*** on TV anymore, for sure, but he's got a plethora of content to prove that they just need to give him a rough idea of what they want and he can go out and do it in his own words. Once you've proven you can do it better on your own consistently, they let you. Cena does. Roman does. Cody does. LA Knight does. Hell, I'd honestly bet Waller is on a much tighter leash but still ad libs some of his shit.

Admittedly the problem is getting to the point where they trust you, because how can you ever get that point if they want you to stick to the script? Shouldn't be a problem for MJF, as he's gone somewhere else and proven it, much like Cody had to.

I disagree. Many stars have talked about how much more controlled WWE is now. Mercedes Monet and Trinity have talked about this at length, and there were others who complained about the writers at WWE. Hell, the reason they kicked Edge out of Judgement day, a group he founded, was because the writers wanted to take it in a supernatural direction which he disagreed with. Fewer and fewer wrestlers at WWE have the creative freedom that allowed for the spectacle us fans saw in the attitude, ruthless aggression eras and even what they did in NXT from 2013 to 2019.

We're arguing two different things lol. That's storyline stuff. You're talking about "Trash speeches". He'd still have relative freedom (Within foul language limitations) on the mic.

Also, both your JD and Sasha Banks complaints (Valid ones) happened while Vince was still under total creative control.

Someone(s) mentioned why would WWE not have trademarked Rated R Superstar. I can't verify these claims but seems they may have tried and failed then abandoned a second attempt years later. In theory if it failed once then AEW may not be able to trademark it either but who knows.

The storyline stuff bleeds into the speeches. There's a lot less ad libbing on the mic these days. The speeches in the ring are scripted and rehearsed. Even LA Knight. Even Roman. Even the Miz. Even Seth Rollins. ESPECIALLY Cody. Holy f*** does he seem wooden on the microphone now. Some of these guys are just better actors than the others. It's way different than the days of the Rock and Stone Cold going at it by basically doing improv comedy on each other.

I'm gonna be honest... WWE isn't hitting non-stop bangers with their storylines, but they also haven't had a whole lot of wet farts since Vince initially got booted. AEW's actual storyline stuff ain't all that great either, unless it's one of the talent that consistently puts the effort in to make something of it.

MJF would do just fine in WWE.

Also, pretty sure Knight has come out multiple times and said that he doesn't rehearse his promo before doing it. Probably why he fumbles his words, but it also comes off more authentic.

Cody is probably going the way which Cornette used to describe Wyatt: "I have no idea what the f*** he's saying but wow is he captivating as he says it." Part of the problem is he's just in a holding pattern until he gets back to Roman.

This whole thing kinda makes MJF more interesting, to me.

I'd assume AEW will offer more guaranteed money to MJF. Not because WWE can't match or better them, but because of the contract structures of both companies. Moxley makes $6M, and it's hard to argue that Max hasn't established himself as as much if not more of a draw. WWE would shoot themselves in the foot paying MJF $5M+, simply because of what their established stars currently make.

BUT, does WWE feel they need to make a loud response to Edge going to AEW and one up them by snagging their biggest star?

I honestly think it's a better move for Max to take less guaranteed money and go to WWE regardless, but a lot of people have a hard time seeing past the initial dollar sign to the potential for much more money.
Are you actually taking that absurd AEW salary list created by a clickbait site that was going around a few months back seriously?

Nope.

Dave has previously said that Moxley's contract requires the company to either match or better him than anybody who would sign after him. At the time Punk signed, this was brought up.

Now, where I f***ed up is, I for some reason thought Dave had previously mentioned Punk was making $5M/year. Apparently it was $3M.

Problem is I can't find the video now because it's buried in the absurd amount of more recent F4W Punk news.

So Mox has a "Favored Nation" clause in his deal just like Hall & Nash did? Maybe TK can buy the rights to the WCW name and IP's and go all in

Edge going to AEW really doesn’t do anything for me. I’ve never been his biggest fan per se and I think his best overall program was 17 years ago with Mick Foley. But hey, Tony has a new toy to play with lol.

Also, that stair spot Darby Allin took was f***ing insane. I legit wince every time he takes ridiculous bumps. He’s on Dynamite Kid’s trajectory and might up in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

I never liked Edge or Christian either. But I also didn’t like Jarrett or Sting that much. Yet they have made me believers. AEW actually does really well with older guys. Like Billy Gunn being another example.

I’m hoping Copeland does the same thing.

I kinda got sick of Punk coming out for three months straight telling everyone how much he loves wrestling though.

Edge's debut is pushing Punk numbers on the first day on Youtube.
I was thinking about it more and he might be the perfect Punk replacement. I don’t think he has quite the name brand as Adam Copeland but he’s not gonna bring baggage. Seems like he wants to coach and work a lot.

He’s even tight with FTR like punk was lol
