—I still don’t understand a lot of the booking by AEW.
—Some of the talent is just buried in stupid feuds or storylines.
—They have incredible tag teams, yet they seem more focused on a trios title and the best tag team doesn’t even have the top tag belts. Put them on FTR, have them feud against the top teams like The Bucks (yes, again), KOR and Fish, The Acclaimed…. Give The Acclaimed the ROH tag titles. And get Briscoes out there too.
—Danielson has been neutered as have other guys.
—Why do you have a singles title like the Atlantic title (ffs that name) and have Pac defending against SabIan?
—Don’t even get me started on the TNT Championship.
—Why do ROH titles exist without a dedicated program? Use the depth on your roster correctly and the titles give you feuds and interest. Andrade, Black, Darby, Sammy, Jungle Boy… TF?
—If you keep going to the blood gimmick over and over again it loses it’s meaning.
—Where are Cole and Co? Is Cole injured?

Cole I think is injuried. KOR idk and Bobby Fish was let go.

Why the hell should anyone Punk at his word? Because FTR likes him (and also hate the Bucks for their own reasons)?

Why is Page the one automatically lying about this?
What evidence does anyone have other than to draw an inferred conclusion given the information we actually know? It’s easy to see both sides, but the crux of this is how and why Colt got sent to ROH and how or why there would be a story to report on about it. Aren’t you the one always bitching about dirtsheets?

It's not just a dirtsheet thing anymore. This is now Punk throwing a public hissy fit.

I'll give him one thing, he isn't wrong to be mad at the Elite for leaking this shit to the dirtsheets and I won't fault him for taking a shot at Alvarez for his garbage takes.

But Punk pretty clearly wanted to talk about Colt, Colt's mom, The Elite, and Hangman.

And end of the day Punk has a long history of being a piece of shit, while Page has the complete opposite reputation

Just got by stuff we have actually seen.

Page says to Punk in a promo he is protecting AEW from him, which was apparently him shooting on Punk. No one thought anything of it

Months after the fact Punk randomly shoots on Page when he is supposed to be building a feud with Mox.

He then gets asked about it during this media scrum and goes on an extremely long rant about Colt and Colt's mom, also interputting Tony later on to keep ranting about Colt despite Tony desperately wanting to move on. Then he also proceeds to shit all over Kenny and The Bucks (EVPs) and Page himself.

It's not some big mystery why Punk comes off as the asshole here and it has nothing to do the dirtsheets.

If he didn't want to talk about it, he could have no commented that question. He clearly wanted to talk about it though

There was evidently another promo in there where Page said something and Punk either wasn’t there or couldn’t answer, and that led down the path we’re on.

Punk is never going to win the court of public opinion with Colt and I think even he knows that. Most people know Colt’s story and know more could’ve been done to help him and didn’t. His insistence to take gratuitous shots obviously isn’t necessary, but this is the forum afforded to separate fact from fiction and Tony needs to make sure that none of this happens on his time again.

The Elite for a long while have been able to operate within a sphere that they had full control over. Now they do not, and to that end had measures of control within a promotion and lost it, and Tony took pretty much all of it. Cody seemed to be fine with whatever happened because he had other projects (including having a role as brand ambassador) before choosing to leave, but that’s really where the cracks began to form. Punk entering the scene amplified it, but did not start with him. Page I don’t think had any kind of control, but he was the guy the Elite and their people were trying to get all the way over, and the reasons being what they were, it didn’t happen. This was their grand project for 4 or 5 years and ultimately didn’t achieve its potential like all their other stories. And then they have to put over Punk, where I’m sure there’s a backstage belief that that didn’t have to happen yet.

Punk’s problem with them seems to be rooted in a belief that things should be their way (which isn’t to say he doesn’t think the same of himself), and they don’t listen to many, if any, of the people they have backstage as resources. They also spent the whole first year of the company putting over as many people as they could.

So I don’t know everything about who is right and wrong about that, and nobody needs to spend any time deciding that. I’m sure there’s more stuff going on involving people that we’d be a bit suprised aren’t so innocent.

Botton line, Tony needs to get his house in order. He’s out there giving an impression that everything is cool but now it’s spilling out into the public and getting turned up to 11. Whatever all this is, we had Eddie punch out Sammy. We had MJF and whatever happened before Double or Nothing. We had whatever is going on with Thunder Rosa with accusations of sandbagging people and a very veiled insinuation that she is only saying she’s hurt. Jericho saying meetings are more frequent and how there’s people not understanding the fragility of what’s been built. There’s gotta be someone in there who doesn’t let anyone pass Go. Who is the Undertaker in there telling Shawn he has to put people over or else? That should be the immediate priority.

Right now it seems like Cody was that person and no one else stepped up once he left.

It's either things have fallen apart -or- we're entering a new era of WCW 2000 worked shoots.
Neither is good.
the vibe of this company is p grim at the moment.

It's not a good thing that a little post show media scrum was more memorable and hotter than the 5-hour PPV they just put on.

That scrum was more memorable and hotter than just about every wrestling PPV in history. Shocked that they haven't yanked it off YouTube.

Yeah, probably. He was big on backstage culture. There was reporting that he and the elite were no longer on speaking terms though. Have to believe it’s among the list of reasons he left.

A backstage altercation took place last night following CM Punk's post-AEW All Out media scrum following his comments, according to Bryan Alvarez in the latest "Wrestling Observer Radio."

The new AEW World Champion held nothing back during his section of the scrum, speaking openly about his thoughts on Colt Cabana, "Hangman" Adam Page, and AEW's Executive Vice Presidents. This apparently led to a lot of backstage issues once his time was done, and a physical altercation reportedly took place between Punk and The Young Bucks, but it is not known who else was involved, with this situation being described as a "melee" by Dave Meltzer.

Goat rodeo. But people will watch on Wednesday night. Punk is Punk, but it's hard to fathom Mr. Pipe Bomb is all that thin skinned about something Page said that was innocuous enough that no one is certain what Punk is actually ticked about.

I’m on Punk’s side in this one

and I was told this WASNT turning into late stage WCW/Russo TNA

I say this as a fan of AEW and wrestling overall, but WWE is starting to run away with this thing ever since Triple H took over.

Weird how the young bucks keep having issues with the top single stars. Cody and now this. Maybe people backstage should stop running their mouth to the dirtsheets.

FTR said great things about Punk and imo those guys know what’s up. Young Bucks probably had them pulled from the video game too. Insecure dweebs.

60% chance it’s all a work

Seeing Punk destroy the first alternative in 20 years is poetic. The Elite did everything Punk said he wanted to do, be the voice of the voiceless and bring change to the industry. Cody leaving seems to have destroyed their locker room. Probably because it shows that the guy who scouted all of their pillars and set them up to do the first All In from a business perspective, negotiating deals and everything, is expendable versus a guy who sat at home for 10 years while others accomplished what he wanted to do. Cody is also going to go on and main event Wrestlemania, while Punk destroys AEW internally swearing everyone else is the asshole.

Began watching the presser now and will keep editing as I go through it. Geez, Punk gets right into it off the hop. If you look at the nuances of the press conference when Punk says there are EVPs that should have known better Tony nods in agreement. The MJF responses around 16min are kayfabe. One of you mentioned the concept of press conferences potentially creating issues because which answers are works and which are shoots. Plus you have the media potentially asking questions about shoot drama but they could be given a work answer or vice versa. It would be one thing if the wrestlers came out, gave a promo then left, but this format muddies the water if there is tension and drama behind the scenes, which currently there appears to be a lot of in AEW. The situation might even be a little sad. What, from the outside, was a relatively happy family giving wrestling fans a new option, is edging towards (or long passed) a dysfunctional mess where you wonder who may leave because of the antics occurring. Jericho may have told Tony about the backstage scuffle as he was leaving the press conference.
