Fair to say I had a good seat tonight. Dark taping was a big highlight.

The thing about the interim concept in UFC is that it’s done so gratuitously. It can work in wrestling provided used correctly. If Punk was going to be out like 6 months then he should relinquish, but if he’s only going to be out say, 6 weeks, that’s different, there would’ve no reason you can’t or would even really want a new ‘real’ champion. For the most part, they’ve been very protective of passing around the belts.

Let's be reality, in today's attention spans, 6 weeks is like 6 months.

Looks like Punk may have hurt himself stage diving into the crowd on Dynamite. Look like he went shin or ankle first right into the guardrail and was a bit ginger after that. Tough break for the guy, literally.

I guess I'm okay with it as long as the interim champion doesn't actually count as a world champion. And I hope they don't make a belt for it.

Did AEW coin the term eliminator to refer to number 1 contenders matches? I prefer eliminator

He hurt himself doing a springboard later in the match. He botched and landed awkwardly on his foot. Prior to that he was fine but afterward you could tell live that there was something very wrong.

They will make a belt because he would be the champion until they unify the titles.

Fair enough but after the stage dive he was sore and looking down at his foot after FTR joined him. Could be the springboard worsened it?

He probably thought he aggravated a muscle in his foot and then fully broke it in the match.

Tony on twitter trying to justify why Mox gets to skip the line, which isn't actually the criticism.

I don't think anyone believes Mox isn't worthy. It's just that he was not ranked 1st just a couple days ago. Wardlow was.

Yes, it was a mistake to rank Wardlow as #1, and the #1 ranked person hasn't always gotten the next title shot. But plans changed. That's all it has to be.

It's almost as if a scripted show's scripted rankings don't account for unscripted injuries lol It's their own fault for having rankings and saying rankings and wins/losses matter but also your fault for getting your panties in a bunch over it.

the rankings are for entertainment purposes only I get it, but there was an easy workaround besides making a further clown show of the rankings.

why even do the Mox vs. winner match on the same show
the battle royal winner going on to face Tana is enough; just have Mox win that. or if you insist on needing that singles extra match, the final 2 (Mox & whomever) face off the next week and the winner goes on. that way you can still get Mox vs. whomever.

Sometimes TK likes taking 8 steps when 3 would get you to the same spot.

Yeah why even do the battle royal winner vs Moxley. Just put Moxley in the battle royal and have the winner move on. It's almost heelish to have Moxley face a guy that already wrestled that night.

The top 4 was Wardlow, Cole, Page, and Mox.

Just do a fatal 4 way of those 4, Mox wins, easy peasy. If you want it to be 5, do the battle royal for a 5th spot. You can spin stories out of that too. Instead Page has a nothing match booked for Wednesday. I don't get that.

It's not really a big deal at the end of the day, but it's a bit of an unforced error too.

Better then going on twitter the next day talking about strength of opponents for why Mox jumps the line. When the hell did that even become a thing? Strength of schedule is a tiebreaker in wrestling now?

Haven't they had the final two of a battle royal face off in a match the following week? Stick with that or have the final two fight in the main event on Wednesday. The whole process of battle royal winner facing the top ranked Mox (who wasn't actually ranked 1) makes you realize they/Tony aren't good at scrambling on short notice. Long feuds/storytelling generally turn out well however in a rush they don't make the correct decision.
