Punk flaunting that he was the top figure seller and most viewed start on YouTube for AEW in 2022 on his Insta story

Danielson doing a promo for tomorrow night's Dynamite:

Scheduled line-up looks pretty solid too:

I love the part about MJF being " contractually obligated to appear live in Seattle " which means that he will definitely not wrestle and he'll probably be up in the press box again with some local skank or else just appear on location in another part of Seattle.

Only one match announced so far ( Orange Cassidy vs Kip Sabian ) but Battle of the Belts 5 will air on TSN5 Friday night at 11 pm Eastern and then repeated Saturday on TSN2 at 4 pm Eastern.

I suppose Battle of the Belts only happens a few times per year however it's annoying they can find air time to air BOTB but not Rampage. Yes, it can be streamed however it's not as convenient as recording and watching at your leisure.

edit...referring to TSN in Canada since the post above mentioned the air time of this weekend's BOTB.

That’s really driven by Turner.

Apparently ESPN Classic ( Canadian version ) aired Rampage for a couple of months in 2022. Kind of weird that it would air on a channel that is not even available in HD. :dunno:

So it's kind of the same old shit with MJF, but there's a 60-minute iron man match at the end

Just watched my recording of dynamite (only caught the last half because of the 17' of snow we got). f***ing HATE Darby over Joe. Hate it so much.

One of the things a friend used to like about AEW was the length of title reigns early in the company. Recently AEW's mentality on length of reigns has done a 180. Was the plan always to give it to Darby however they didn't want him to take it from Wardlow due to optics of the size disparity so Joe was a medium-sized guy who could pass the eyeball test of being able to beat Wadlow while also being able to lose to Darby? Joe comes up with the king of television or whatever his self-proclaimed title was and it lasts all of two or three weeks? Whatever, on to Friday.

I like Darby winning the title again but don't like the timing. Joe was rolling and just declared himself the king of television so why have him lose so soon. There was almost no buildup to it either. Kind of seems like they just decided to have a feel-good moment with the show being in Darby's hometown.

Yeah, agreed. I don't have a problem with Darby holding the title. But, like you said, Joe was on a roll. A monster heel. I was liking him even more than MJF the last few weeks. Should have kept building him up.

I think Darby is going to have a long reign and will end up dropping the title to a debuting Nick Wayne in 6-7 months. He promised him a title shot after he graduates once the show ended on Wednesday.

Once they booked that match, it was the only thing they were ever going to do. Not gonna have a hometown guy job in a main event title match, and/or without a higher purpose.

They had something good going with Joe and his "King of Television" monster heel gimmick. They could of ran with that for 6 months, building up Joe as unstoppable.

Why is it so hard for AEW to create long-term stories? Even early 2000s WCW didn't hotshot things the way AEW does.

It's like when they gave the fans The Acclaimed vs. FTR a few weeks back. Those two teams are easily the most over in the entire company and should of been kept away from each other as long as possible. Make the fans crave it for when the confrontation finally does happen.
