Gotta love deadline day here

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Every. Single. Year.

I can't wait for him to overpay for someone just to see these same people *****ing about the player or the price

they dumped Filpula. I guess that gives them enough money to sign Palat now...

Not necessarily. They have Drouin, Johnson and Palat as RFA, plus performance bonuses from this year that look to carry over. They could do it, but it would be tight, and fill the rest of the roster with ELC

Love or hate Sweeneys plan, but to say he doesn't have one is just plain wrong.
Agree 100%
I'm sure he has been in on possible trades but has decided he doesn't want to give up what there asking,we don't know what they were so ,how can we say he doesn't no what he is doing.

Hell baby
When has he actually "done" ? other than Lee and JML, there's been no "done".

All I know is the "don't".

I've been here for 11 deadlines. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't

The team is more or less in the same spot as last year and a lot of people want rentals now. After complaining for a year about liles and stempniak

I thought trading Bishop cleared enough space for the bonuses.

Love or hate Sweeneys plan, but to say he doesn't have one is just plain wrong.

He's got some kind of a plan that seems to include waiting until his prospects develop. The problem is that he's deviated from that plan notably (keeping Loui, signing Backes to a bad contract), and the other problem is that by the time those prospects materialize, key veterans on this team may be ineffective or retired.

So I think it's easy to say he "has a plan", but I think it's very hard to tell just what window of time that plan is targeting.

It's ONLY his 2nd year as the Bruins GM. People act like he's been here for 10 years and has never done anything. Does anyone remember the mess we had towards the end of PC's run?

Well, I haven't been here for that many.

But I can remember the Ian Moran, Andrei Meszaros, JML deals.

The one deadline that I did like was 2009 when PC traded for Recchi right on deadline day. AND. I missed that one. I was in Toronto on my way to Florida.

If not for my wife's first class ticket, I would have never found out about that deal. That was back in the day when I didn't have an iphone and instant access to information.

Loved the deal then and still love it now.

I would have loved to have seen the negative comments on that.

But my point remains, Don hasn't done much to earn the "damned if you do" Comment.
