To Stl: C. Miller, Lauzon, Czarnik, Heinen
To Bruins: Shatterkirk

Bruins lineup

Marchand Bergeron Backes
Celly Krejci Pasta
Vatrano Spooner Hayes
Schaller Moore Nash

Chara Carlo
Krug Shatterkirk
K. Miller Mcquaid

No bleeping way.

That is a huge overpay for Shattenkirk, unless you think he will sign a Torey Krug sized extension, which he won't

And I have no interest in giving Shattenkirk a 7 year extension at close to 50 million.

And a third negative, is I don't buy that the B's could ice Shattenkirk and Krug together as an even strength pairing.

Absolutely not. For all the reasons listed above.

As a rental, no way.

As a sign-and-trade (or trade-and-sign), I'd have to see the contract.

I have to agree with Matt Kalman here:

Kalman: Scheming Sweeney Should Stay Away From Shattenkirk, Consider Selling Off Spare Parts

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2017/02/...-away-shattenkirk-consider-selling-off-parts/

Really like the article as well.

Especially hearing this:

“That being said, if there is a deal or opportunity to improve this club with somebody who will probably be with us, rather than on the pure rental side, then I’d definitely explore it.â€

Sweeney, in his chat with the Herald, also mentioned the faint possibility that prospects Charlie McAvoy and Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson could join the Bruins when Boston University’s season is over. In that case, Sweeney would be wise to leave open a roster spot or two for a rookie who could make a late-season impact and help the Bruins avoid a third straight spring without playoffs.

I could be wrong but aren't roster sizes unlimited after the deadline, provided the team can stay under the salary cap?

and how do you know?? rumor has it the Blues had two sign and trade situations denied by shatterkirk and agent

Shatterkirk played for BU ... and some analysts are predicting he will sign with the Bruins as a FA

Even as a rental he would be big for the playoff run/playoffs

can't keep all of these Ds anyways due to the expansion draft

I like Czarnik and Heinen, but Bruins have lots of talent coming up and not enough roster space

I think Sweeney is on the hot seat. Cam too.

What's more, I think the Julien situation shows that ownership doesn't really consider them part of their inner circle. They weren't even consulted.

Sweeney and Neely are going to do what they're going to do. And ownership will either find it good enough or pull the rug out from under them.

I don't see that at all but many outstanding posters know a lot more than me I'm sure disagree

Jacobs would have to have both his head in the sand and a terminal condition to not know or care about what's on the way and what's already shown up

According to one of the most respected and unfortunately rarely around posters anymore that was Neely deal

I wouldn't know but what I do know is this guy would

I laughed at this. Well done.

The Rinaldo trade has Neely's fingerprints all over it.

I was stunned at the deal when it happened

6th maybe 7th more likely

Apparently Neely suggested Rinaldo but my guess is Sweeney gave the 3

Not giving him a free pass because he had to have agreed on the compensation

The one spot is top 2-3 line winger

They are getting someone

Sharp Vanek

Seriously this team could be a pain to anyone and if I'm Sweeney I'm upgrading the Cehlarik and Hayes spots

No Carlo but I'd go back to Sakic with a group for Landeskog

I'd like to see Sharp replace Hayes.

He's not what he was, but he's still decent enough, can play PK and PP, can play on any of the 3 scoring lines.

The price would have to be right but he's my top rental choice.

Why Cehlarik? He is playing well

Nice pass to Pasta in close tonight (penalty call)

Strong pursuing the puck
