Beleskey would have been way better ..Connely has no.upside Chirelli needs too go

You have lost any credibility you may have had.

Connelly is 4 years younger than Belesky. This is a trade for this year and beyond. Connelly has upside. (might not hit it), but has a higher ceiling than Smith.

God, I hate Chiarelli.

I hate him.

I knew we shouldn't give this ******* the keys to the castle this deadline.

****ing joke. I knew he'd make a stupid, desperate trade to try to save his job and sure enough, here we are.

Barf.

I agree man Chirelli is garbage He did hire Dave Lewis at one time

He will have by far the highest shot % on the team. So I can see that helping us out.

WE GIVE AWAY DRAFT PICKS I HAVE BEEN SAYING IT ALL DAY LONG..WE JUST GIVE THEM AWAY!!!

AM I SCREAMING LOUD ENOUGH FOR CHARLIE TO HEAR...

Like is this really gonna help us make the playoffs?? Like really?? But I guess with the bruins draft record Connolly will score more goals than the 2 busts they would draft....

This organization sucks!!

Much better. Much, much better.

Obviously much better than Ryder.

But is that the standard we're working with?

I have to be honest. I'm feeling a bit "meh" about the trade.

This seems to me, more like a trade that should be announced on top of a few more moves, that are more substantial.

Connolly, young guy, inconsistent, possible upside. OKAY. But.... ? That's it?

It's basically Boychuk for Connolly. When you put it that way, this deal disgusts me.

He has potential but...i don't know man. He doesn't really fit the team at all.

Seems weird that Tampa and their fans don't really seem to be upset he's moving out.

He's 22 years old with 12 goals in 50 games with Brian Boyle as his most common centreman. He's big and not soft, goalscorer. He should help the Bruins. Two 2nds is still a fair bit to give up.

Wow. Really?

Not in love with the move, but this is MUCH better than giving up those 2 seconds for a rental. Or trying to re-acquire Michael Ryder.

Connolly is 22 years old. He still has upside. This is a high risk, but could be a high reward. Worth it, as we have a few years to see how it plays out.

Can't believe people are upset with this, when names like Chris Stewart has been thrown around here all season. The same Chris Stewart that has just 2 more goals than Connolly, but Stewart is expiring, overpaid, and known to have motivational issues.

Young (22) and cheap cheap cheap (850k).

I like it better than Ryder.

+1

Peeps need to calm down and see the situation we're in.

Boychuk is gone btw because we had to get under a salary number to begin the season. I miss him but he was never making it to the deadline.

Chia's in a situation too because Iginla played his bonu$$ off last season. Gamble that almost paid off. Can't hate Chia for that. Too much impatience.

This is a great move for a young RFA with decent upside. I'll bet more coming tomorrow. This will get me to Alaska in 5 hours with optimism.

2010 NHL Entry Draft 6th Pick Overall Tampa Bay Lightning Brett Connolly

Uploaded on Jun 27, 2010

2010 NHL Entry Draft 6th Pick Overall Tampa Bay Lightning Brett Connolly

Brett Connolly said he was in kindergarten when he did something "not very smart." The result: surgery to repair three broken bones in his right hand that Connolly's coach Dean Clark said "feels kind of weird" when you shake it.

http://www.tampabay.com/sports/hock...ghtning-top-draft-pick-brett-connolly/1105401

Are there any limitations with your hand?

No, absolutely not. I grew up with it and have adapted. I can make a fist. I can hold a (hockey) stick. I can move everything well. It's just a normal hand.

What happened?

I was swinging off a gate to jump into a lake, which, thinking back on it, was not very smart. I got my hand caught in the gate and it crushed it pretty good. But it's all good now, and it hasn't bothered me since.

What kind of gate?

It was a metal gate to keep vehicles away from the lake. It was just a gate that swung open and closed, and we were swinging off it to jump into the lake. It was definitely something you regret.

How bad were you hurt?

I broke three bones. It was a pretty long surgery. I had to get pins and plates and the whole nine yards. It was definitely the bones and it definitely hurt.

How long before you could start using the hand?

Probably a month or two.

The draft picks are the Bruins' natural second round pick in 2015 and the natural second round pick in 2016

Bruins keep the Flyers pick. Boychuk was a 31 year old UFA to be for the folks who are gonna obsess over Boychuk for Connolly.

He's a lean, wiry, gritty, and fast offensive player.

He costs **** all on the cap. They can alway scoop back picks in the off season.

This was a low risk, relatively.

I actually like it.

I'm not going to be hard on PC for this one, Connolly was drafted #6 for a reason and guys need to remember players around this age start to breakout.

Hopefully I'll wake up and find that Peter Chiarelli was traded for a bag of dirty socks...

If this clown trades more of our picks tomorrow...

Let's put it like this;

If this is Chiarelli's answer to shoring up for the present; fire him on the spot.

If he's doing this as a shot into the future with the premise of another move coming (not sure where considering the prices) then fine.

Brett Connolly will not save this team.

I would relax for a bit. Small cap it which makes me feel a bigger trade could come tomorrow.
