If you listened to any of the podcasts Kirk, Reed and I have done, I've been saying it for months, too many prospects. They will never be able to fit them all in and in 5 years afford them all.

They have to, absolutely have to move prospects/picks. They can't use them all

I've had this feeling as well. It's nice to have a lot of darts with how they can be uncertain, but it would be nice to consolidate some into stronger single pieces.

We can't core goals to save our lives, we have two useless overpaid dmen in K Miller and McQuaid, our backup goalie should be in the AHL and there's two pages on us claiming Ty Rattie off waivers?

Paging Don Sweeney........are you alive Don? If you are, and you want this team to potentially make the playoffs, a few tips:

1) Get Tuukka a back up who can give him a rest 1-4 games so hes not burnt out and gives the team a chance to win.
2) Stop over valuing Quaider and Miller, they're poison, taking up a roster spot, and overpaid. Trade one or both for a 4th round pick and call it a day.
3) If you plan to keep Krejci around, get the guy someone who can score. Matty D from Colorado is available or Landeskog.
4) Send Jimmy Hayes to Providence. He's a plug.......hes soft.......call up Randell, I honestly think he'll outscore Hayes and he'll do Miller/McQuaids job as well in the fistocuffs department.

I won't ask you when specifically you think we might see a deal, but (and this is for anybody who wants to answer) when is the roster freeze over? Or did it already end?

It's well over... it's only in effect so players don't get cut or traded during the holidays. I know in the past the 27th (I think the day they come back) is when it's play time again.

I am actually pretty excited. Could a top 6 forward be coming our way?

Some money would have to go the other way (Kevan or Adam 2.75)
Propects (2 of Lauzen/Zobril/Lindgren + Senyshen or Debrusk?)

We would absorb 3 million in salary and still have money to play with at the deadline.

The deal breaker is likely Boston is insisting on Colorado taking Jimmy Hayes and his salary but the Avs say no way.

We might have to add a pick in order for them to pry Jimmy from us.
Or just absorb the money.

You're forgetting one thing. Half the season is gone so only half the cap it comes. The other half has already been charged to the other team.

True Dom, I was just thinking all these players have money attached for full seasons next year and beyond that have to be considered.

At least you didn't say my proposal was crap. I thought it was pretty fair.

Over on the Stanley Cup of Chowder site - he insists Carlo or McAvoy need to be involved. Not a chance. Carlo is key for this year and Charlie is our best prospect. Neither of them are gong anywhere.

I'll believe a big name player is coming here when it actually happens.
I remember Jeremy Roenick and Mike Modano were close to being signed.
