I think Montreal would do it because Lafreniere is French Canadian and Gorton would want him because he drafted him.

Don't read too much into this line juggling. It was inevitable with the addition of new players to see where they fit. IMO, this is more about where Frankie V fits and if he remains in the lineup. Since joining us the 2nd line has stalled. The Breadman has 2 points in 4 games since Frankie V has been there. Prior to that, Panarin had 11 points in 5 games.

Gallant is giving Copp a try there now and Frankie V a chance with Zee and Kreids. That is all this is.

He knows Laff can play with Zee and Kreids,... and he also knows Laff can play with Chytil. This is more about where the new guys fit.

Did I call it, or did I call it? Told ya Gallant wanted to see where the new guys fit. And so what happens, all 3 that he moved around,... scored.

Gallant has to get the Jack Adams. Every move he makes pays off.

I was already aware that Gallant is a very good coach, and have been aware of that fact for a long time. I don't freak out with every thing done, as some did with what they perceived as an unforgivable mishandling of Alexis LaFreniere in one game, as if they know better. It is simply crazy how bent out of shape some posters here get. They are not on the bench, they are not part of that special coach to player relationship that exists.
And, they aren't nearly as smart as Gallant

The Rangers will need to have a quality center with Lafreniere on the third line. Chytil is fine at $2.3M. Give Filip a better player on his line instead of a plug, They can't do team jam them in with having a top heavy roster and filling out the roster with role players making less than $1M.

Defensivley he is lost on RW many times
He is a LW on a team with 2 top 5 LWs in the league. For now 3rd line is where he belongs. I do agree that eventho strome, copp and vat are better players currently i wouldnt mind him on PP1 to boost his confidence and TRADE VALUE 😁
 
He's shooting nearly 18% over about a season and a half worth of games now. Teams better watch out once he starts creating open space for himself more consistently.

Btw he played 13 minutes and 34 seconds….not enough at all

Our leading goal scorer at 5v5 btw

Aren’t the top end guys supposed to be insane in this draft? If Montreal had a top 5 pick and Caufiekd I’d let them have Laf

Edit: 2023 draft is the pick I want
