i checked - you are very correct.Yakupov's rookie season pace was exactly the same as D+3 Kakko & D+2 Lafreniere's pace COMBINED.
It’s painfulI dont know what they're trying to do with this kid.
He's definitely someone with that clutch personality. His first goal was an OT winner. He wasnt playing poorly when he got moved down. I really think he needs time in the top 6.Can we take a moment and appreciate the pressure he had on that goal? The coach put him on line 4 while he was playing a decent game. The #2 pick (who was not noticeable all game) gets a goal right before him. If he misses, can you imagine the meltdown on this board? This kid has stones.
Its a balancing act for a beat writer. You want to ask hard questions but gallant is tight lipped, plus you dont wanna ruin a relationship with a first year coach. Can any of the best writers do their job and ask some hard questions of Gallant? What’s the plan with Lafreniere? Bench him and play him less than 10 minutes a night snd hope he practices hard while not getting minutes?
God please this, ask the f***ing hard questionsCan any of the best writers do their job and ask some hard questions of Gallant? What’s the plan with Lafreniere? Bench him and play him less than 10 minutes a night snd hope he practices hard while not getting minutes?
I think he’s gonna turn into our next Callahan rather than Huberdeau. He's definitely someone with that clutch personality. His first goal was an OT winner. He wasnt playing poorly when he got moved down. I really think he needs time in the top 6.
Gotta say…loved that he put up his first finger after scoring. Like he was reminding Byfield who went no 1.
Let him dominate Hartford for a little imo he needs to remember that he has the skill to be a difference maker
Huberdeau doesn't make the nhl until d+2. Lets calm down before we say laf is a 3rd line player.I think he’s gonna turn into our next Callahan rather than Huberdeau.
I don’t mean it as a degrading tbing, though it’s easy for me to say not being the 1OA being sent down in this hypothetical. He has the skills to be a game changer in this league, just needs to see it and get in a groove imo. Beating up on some ahl teams may give him that positive momentumI think that would be worse, we're at the top of the standings we can afford to give him some more ice time, if we wanna have any chance in playoffs Laf and Kakko have to produce, why not get them ready now.

Callahan was still a first liner in his peak. Maybe not a prototypical first liner … but he certainly created room for more talented players and sparked his teammates. So, while it would be disappointing for a 1OA projected elite playmaker to basically become an elite grinder, it would still beat what Kakko is likely to become.Huberdeau doesn't make the nhl until d+2. wat?I think he’s gonna turn into our next Callahan rather than Huberdeau.
Great passer.Serious question: what skills do you see?
