Romanov back in please. He's going to make mistakes but he's a lot better than Mete.

Sometimes it's good for a kid to watch one game from upstairs, just to see the player's movements and systems from a different angle.

They should not be sitting Romanov over Mete or Kulak. The kid is getting hot and to just sit him can do one of two things which is damage his confidence and cool him down. Let him play until there is a reason to sit him.

As "rough" as it was getting for him the last couple games...he still helps the team more than hurts it
Watching Mete in his stead didnt make me feel ANY better, at least Romy CRUNCHES guys and battles in front of the net
The game was in his head a bit too much lately but im sure Romo comes back with a VENGEANCE now

I don't like Kulak.
He skates well. Big body, but he is just the player that I never liked or cared for. Least favorite Habs.
I would play Mete over him. But I understand that Kulak is a better fit.
Mete played some solid hockey for us at some point. Kulak is just always meh.
I think habs fans underrate Mete a lot.

If Mete had an NHL-calibre shot, then he'd be playing imo...therein lies the issue, however; he's not a threat to score, so other teams let him make his own mistakes with the puck knowing that he's not gonna be the one that beats them...compound that with his lack of physicality & size and you're gonna have problems sticking with the Big Club...

Nothing wrong with Romanov sitting, he clearly has struggled a bit which is to be expected as he was often used as a 7th D last year in the KHL, rarely more then a 5th D so it's a big jump for him. He'll be fine.
Just don't get putting Mete at RD, if you are going to play him put him at LD. I don't think they are showcasing him as he makes 35K over league min and we have so little cap space and he is very valuable as a 7th D since Fleury struggled so badly in Laval it would be risky to have to go to him and I would rather never have to see Ouellet in the lineup again unless it's on an opposing team.

why is people so upset about romanov missing one game? the guy played like 35-40 games per year with 10 min of TOI in Russia. He already played 9 games and you have to roll the taxi squad to keep guys fresh. Nothing wrong with that.

Seeing Russian posters posting suggestions of a Romanov-Sergachev pairing for the '22 olympics over on the international tournaments board is both good and bad since it's good they think he will be on the team bad feels bad knowing what could have been.

Kulak isn’t a very good player. That is for sure, I prefer Mete by a lot.

Romanov was not benched cause he was not playing well. It's about getting Mete into games and the Canucks were a good team to have him play cause they are not a physical team. Keeping Romanov hungry to prove himself is a good thing IMO. 50/56 games is no problem at all.
Julien knows what he is doing IMO.

I prefer Kulak this season. Big body that skates well and can handle the physical forwards down low and in front of the net. I don't hate Mete and he's only 22 but right now, he is not producing points which is the value he should be bringing with the game he has. I rather not trade him cause he can be a good piece for us but that more about the future than the now.
Kulak is almost at 60% Corsi for at the moment. He is getting most of his starts in the offensive end but that's good numbers. I like his compete level physically along the walls and in front of the net. Mete and Romanov are not a good fit.
