Its their star player, Id hope they send this message, the Habs are the only ones soft enough to let this go.Yes it was, and a clean hit. So why the counterattack?WTF it's hockey.

Bugs me when everyone goes bonkers on a clean hit......no need, but it happens.Yes it was, and a clean hit. So why the counterattack?WTF it's hockey.

Nowadays ? What happened back then when you went and hit Lafleur ? You'd get absolutely pummeled by Robinson.Body checks are part of the game, expect to get hit. Don't understand this soft p***y shit hockey players having to defend a legal clean hit nowadays.
He got hit in the face with a puck at practice. Not a slap shot or anything though.

Having a shot isn't only about goals, it's about creating chances too which Mete never does. Kulak can do that a lot better than Mete even though he's not good enough either.
Kulaks skating is most definitely above average, it's in fact pretty good.
Why do you think star players did not get hit ? Could it be because of retribution ?Back then games were not all televised, but I don't recall ever Lafleur getting nailed like that. Big hits were more common and less retribution as hockey was much more punishing in a sense back then.
Mete also has 4 goals in his career. Kulak sucks too, but he has better shot than Mete without a doubt.Mete with his peewee shots scored 4 goals last year to Kulak's 0 while playing 5 less games (same amount of assists).
Kulak's career high in goals is only two more than Mete's.

Emelinish.....always hit guys clean.....it’s a Russian thing!!Yes it was, and a clean hit. So why the counterattack?WTF it's hockey.
come on guy, you whine when our answers are about you instead of about your post, but you always come with that kind of message that we can't answer without doing it.He has weaknesses and strengths, Kulak has no strengths, only weakness.
Did he give him a microfracture?Bonecrushing honestly. Boom.
Macrofracture probablyDid he give him a microfracture?
So double and therefore betterKulak has 8 goals in his 224 games career.

Kulak has 8 goals in his 224 games career.
Mete also has a higher points per game average over his career.
...and Kulak is the better defenseman, hence why he's playing and Mete is whining...
From what I've seen this year, I wouldn't say Hughes is good in his own end. And Mete was a top guy on the Habs in his first couple seasons.Well that's just simply untrue because Hughes kept getting a larger role while Mete was regressing and eventually got outplayed by an AHLer. No offense and poor defense. Hughes defensive game wasn't a concern because Tanev helped him out a lot last year, but this year, he's struggling immensely defensively.
Like I said, he's struggling immensely this year. His defensive game was not this bad at all last year. Sophomore slump and/or no Tanev, but he can and will be a lot better. As for Mete, he's regressed every year. Either getting sent down to Laval for a couple games, or getting outplayed by an AHLer to the point were he is now a healthy scratch. From what I've seen this year, I wouldn't say Hughes is good in his own end. And Mete was a top guy on the Habs in his first couple seasons.

Lafleur has always been my favourite player. Yes, he didn't get nailed with big hits but he certainly took a lot of abuse back then. The game was nasty and Lafleur didn't shy away. He didn't have a policeman on his line (Lemaire and Shutt) but the team was tough. Saturday nights with René Lecavalier and Gilles Tremblay! Pierre Houde and Marc Denis are great too...Back then games were not all televised, but I don't recall ever Lafleur getting nailed like that. Big hits were more common and less retribution as hockey was much more punishing in a sense back then.
