agreed....it’s a great tool for era comparisons. Love it for that. Unquestionably.

Beyond that though.....the all time leader in adjusted goals carries only slightly more weight than the all time expected goals leader lol...which is next to nothing next to actual goals.

Anyway, I expect Ovie to continue to play 5 seasons after this year and at 40, 40, 30, 30 and 30, I expect him to have 900+ goals when all is said and done.

Couple that with 700 ish assists and that's 1600+ points. Top 10 all time.

I have great expectations for Ovie.

This was a fun read -- Greenberg tweeted out TEB's recap of Ovi's first game. Think I'm going to get, "It was just a shot. I must only shoot and I score two goals," as a tattoo.

Two goals for Ovie tonight. Both at even strength which brings him to 452 even strength goals. That ties him for 7th all time with Messier.

His second goal was the GWG. Ovie now has 115 GWGs for his career. Only 20 behind Jagr now.

Ovie heating up. Goals in 5 straight games and 7 goals in 7 games.

Also of note, Ovie’s +/- up to -3. It had been as low as -10.

Bobby Mac just mentioning Ovechkin specifically as one of the guys likely to not extend early because then he has to be protected for the ED....suggested other teams will be utilizing this strategy.
