Some crazy things:
-> Will likely hit 5th all time in goals this season
-> Will likely hit 2nd all time in power play goals this season
-> By the end of the season, should be #2 in adjusted goals all time
-> Could lead the league in even strength goals this year (2 back of Matthews), which would tie him for #1 all time (most times leading league in ESG)
-> Ovi lost 2x 50-goal seasons (the half lockout, and last year), and finished with 49 one other year. He could have easily had the most all time
-> Ovechkin has the most 45 goal seasons of all time
-> Ovechkin was robbed of a 40 goal season in the shortened lockout, which would have tied him with Gretzky for the most all time. He would have had a great shot this season to gain sole possession of #1 if not for COVID
-> If Ovechkin finishes top-5 in goals this year, he will tie Howe for the most top-5 finishes. This is crazy impressive considering that it is significantly harder to be top-5 in any stat now, compared to back when Howe played.
