What would we save if we waived him and called up Kinkaid? Like $150K?

He looks like 2012-2013 MAF out there.

Gallant yanking Georgiev tonight was a clear message to Drury that he neeeds to do something. Gallant can’t trust this kid. They’ve given him tons of chances and he’s response by being the worst goalie in the league. And he complains about playing time and stuff when he’s not earning anything with his play.

Put him on waivers this afternoon, the coach rightfully has no use for him. The schedule is pretty favorable where you can probably let Igor start the next five games, and then have a backup for Chicago on 12/4.

Like I stated in the PGT, I've always liked Georgiev and really hope (and still believe) he can salvage his NHL career, but it's not happening here. The sooner we are divorced, the better for both parties. Drury needs to figure out the backup position, and fast. And I don't think Kinkaid or Huska are the answers.

Pretty crazy to think how Gorton and Drury botched the value on this guy

Always sell high folks
I'm not sure that's fair. Georgiev's value was highest well before Shesterkin had established himself as a viable no. 1. Hindsight is 20/20, but that would have been a huge risk.

It’s wasn’t though

anyone with eyes could see Shestyorkin was legit. And Georgiev has always been nothing special, it was just a matter of time before the wheels fell off.

These executives get paid to have foresight and they botched this one

He's got the yips. Not sure he will recover. I'm ready for Kinkaid or Huska.

Agreed Geo needs to go, he's terrible and besides having lost confidence in himself, it's evident he's lost the confidence of his team and coach.
However, I don't think Huska or Kinkaid are long term solutions. Imagine if god forbid Shesty gets injured for a few weeks or longer...we need a quality, proven back up, that can handle the load when necessary

Swap him and Kinkaid around so that Georgiev can try to get back in form. Neither goalie is great, but there's no way the guys have any faith in Geo right now.

Also, after last night, I'm suddenly much more cognizant of Huska's hot start...

Last night just felt like it was the end for Georgiev in New York. The decision to put Igor in for the 3rd just screams that the coaching staff can no longer trust him. Hard to picture him starting another game for the club.
