Confirmed with Link: Alex Tuch signed 8x10.5m, 3rd round pick traded to Buffalo

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
The cap is projected to keep rising rapidly for the forseeable future, so yeah. And I don't think, with CapFriendly in house especially, they'd make a deal that would hamstring them too badly. They are probably hoping to land a Big Fish centerman next year and want flexibility for that and for Lenny/Hutson/Pro....
People can nitpick at these deals but it's near impossible to argue that we don't have an incredibly strong front office. It's the most welcomed security blanket in sports, you're seeing the top notch asset management with the Wiz too. Will all of these deals work throughout, of course not, but I have tons of faith that they're making the right decisions and none of them are shortsighted.

I don't think Tuch is likely to age well, so signing him until he's 38 certainly feels like a "win now" type of move. People can talk all they want about the raising cap, but $10.5M for a guy who gets his a lot of his offense in transition and broken plays is not going to look great when that guy is 36, 37, 38 years old.

Guys in their late 30s aren't as good as when they're younger?

Thank you, Nostradamus.

Wonder when will we find out about NMC stuff. That's going to really hammer this one home for me. If there's not any NMC that's unreal. My expectation is that at least the 4 years will be full NMC and a no trade list for the following but we'll see.

Tuch is good but not 10.5 good more like 8.5 . Seems like caps refuse à rebuild and enter no mans land

A team with the majority of its core in their primes and some extremely promising prospects breaking in to the league isn’t a rebuild candidate. Please become better informed about the organization before you post.

Not salty at all, Didnt want to extend him to a new big contact because we have many younger players that suits the cap and quest for the cup better. But i like him as player . Hopefully he does good .
Its a good trade for the Sabres. A 3rd rounder for a UFA leaving anyways is about as good as a GM can do.

We overpaid in both trades but that's the price.

Mmmmmm salty
Seems like most of the mains are totally unaware that we have a good lineup and a rock solid prospect core before the Kyrou and Tuch deals. They're all under the impression Ovi is retiring and we're headed for a lengthy rebuild. We were just a few short years ago but a lot has changed and nobody seemed to have noticed. It's almost like were the most underrated in the league or something. 😯
