Oleksiak is UFA so no.

Speaking of PTSD, bad memories of the Oleksiak draft year because people thought he would be a partner for Myers because... tall. lllTall. That was it, just because they were tall.

You joke, but my pet theory is there's a force multiplier effect when multiple REALLY BIG GUYS(TM) are on ice at the same time.

Kraken fan here who roots for the Sabres as my East team. Can you please convince Tuch to re-sign in Buffalo before our idiot GM does something stupid and signs him in Seattle.

Congrats on the Byram trade btw .. pretty damn amazing value.

As someone who was enjoying the Kraken until Botterill got involved, you may have already come to the realization that he is not good at his job.

Which is probably a mid-round draft pick based on other sign-and-trade moves. Something around a 4th rounder.
I don’t know. There was a lot of talk about Raddysh ending up in TO even during the season. I don’t think they were bidding with many other teams for his rights. IF, Tuch has indicated that he’s willing to do a sign and trade with a multitude of teams, we may see a little bidding war :dunno:

Ha. Believe it or not he has been better than Francis. Small sample size and it's really not saying much after the job Francis did.

The ownership is being idiotic and has tied Botterill's hands in a way because they are delusional and think we are actually a good team close to making the playoffs every year. But I think they are learning the hard way right now because no one wants to waive to come to Seattle and the UFA market sucks outside of Tuch. So with him gone, atleast we hope that Botterill can save the team from himself.

Tuch would immediately be the best forward on your roster if Seattle signs him. He’s an amazing 2 way player and a great leader on + off the ice. You guys have a bunch of cap space. Tuch will probably be a really good player for at least the first 5 years of the deal. If I were you I would be very excited if you sign Tuch.

JMO anyway

I agree with all you are saying. Each and every part, other than the signing. But that's not about Tuch and more about the Kraken.

He does nothing to move the needle enough on our roster. We are still not a playoff team with him. He would be only legit 1st line player we have ever had on the Kraken but that is not how you build a roster.

Seattle doesn't have a 5th round pick this year. They will have to give up one of their 4ths.

Or something like this:
(Won't happen, just dreaming)

Seattle 2nd in 2026 and 6th in 2026 for Tuch and Buffalo 2nd in 2028.

Gives Jarmo an extra 2nd this year to use in a draft they are hosting or to have as another trade asset.

My controversial opinion is that Botterill was a good GM was who hung out to dry by his owner in the three biggest whiffs (forcing the RoR trade through, the Skinner signing, and Krueger). Most of Adams success was really built on the foundation that GMJB laid.

You could usually see what he was trying to do (Setup a strong developmental program in Rochester and find values to fill out the bottom of the lineup). he had plenty of misfires, but the team felt well run mostly with some spastic bad decisions that were best explained by an angry owner saying "I don't care, get it done now" on the phone.

I still think you give him too much benefit of the doubt, and Ralph was completely his decision because Botts knew him from Winnipeg via his father. We do know that Terry is easily swayed by bluster so it’s not a surprise that somebody dropping buzz words and a polished business delivery which sucker him in again like it did with Rex Ryan. But the kernel of this is BigHead was the introductory path.

I would also question your take on their farm system at the time. But that’s a discussion for another day… Again… For probably the 20th time. :) or I guess August.

The obsession with wasting draft picks on R HD, the constant bad conditions on every trade draft pick, and negotiating against himself all the time we’ll just sweep under the rug. The first Reinhart bridge, Housley… why you gotta hear my buzz like this man. Still riding high off of this trade yesterday and now having PTSD flashbacks! 🤪

I did enjoy Seattle when they were a four second line team and just came at people in waves. They still need a better center core. Tuch wont give them that.
