If they think he could be the long term Captain then he will get an "A" this year, with Okposo getting the "C".
The other A will likely stay with Girgs. Skinner is also and option. As far as Dahlin or Cozens, I highly doubt they repeat the Eichel mistake by giving any of the young and developing crowd any other responsibility past focusing on their game.

How the hell does Eichel look like Dahlin or Cozens? Dahlin is already playing with "A". He is one of the team leaders in the locker room according to Granato, Adams and Tuch. Cozens obviously also shows leadership qualities. Do not think that if a player is young, then he is not ready. I know many people who, at a younger age, are leaders in character than most experienced guys, both in sports and in life. Each case is individual. Dahlin has been in the NHL for five years, I’m not sure that "A" will be some kind of pressure for him, especially since he already played with "A" last season and played perfectly in 2022.

I... don't see Skinner as an option. He'll certainly be here for a while and apparently an upbeat guy but I'd be real surprised if he was on the radar. There's still some solid vets you can patch up and Tuch wouldn't be shocking

Dahlin had HALF a good year last year. Cozens is still figuring out his game. When either have put together 2 straight high level solid years, then we can revisit this conversation. Till then? I am not interested in either as captain or assistant.

But where does their game? It is important how they behave in the locker room, in the team, on the ice. I think Dahlin will get an "A" this season and it will be well deserved.

Pretty sure Dahlin wore a letter in some games while Girgs or Okposo were out of the lineup.
I think alot of teams like to have a dman with an A or C to represent that group. We are so young, and the vets are new. I could see Dahlin getting the A for that reason.

Id bet my house Okposo gets it this year. I’d bet less that Dahlin gets it after him but I would bet something.

Where did this impressive consensus on Okposo come from?
I think going by the various interviews, social media posts and videos that have been made available by the team. Okposo seems like he's the vocal leader of the team and almost every other player in exit interviews found some way to mention Okposo's leadership. Probably why most are getting that indication that he'll be captain.

Granato always mentions Okposo and Girgensons first on their team leadership. Then will get into the Dahlin, Cozens and Tuch shoutouts. Combine it with the way players talk about Okposo and it seems like a done deal. IIRC the time Granato confirmed they’d name one this year was right after talking about Okposo’s leadership and how the young players look to him

Maybe KO could be the first person to wear the letter "D" on the front of their sweater.

There's a reason why to open last season he only named two players for letters as opposed to three. Okposo and Girgensons are definitely the two guys he looks at first and his actions bear that out.

Then when both of them were out and he needed someone else to wear a letter Dahlin got it, and I think it's also telling that Dahlin kept his letter even when those guys came back.

I thoroughly expect those three to get the letters this year, with Okposo as C. Tuch will get one when either KO/ZG leaves, or if there's a long term injury. But Tuch is going to be a leader with or without a letter--just like all of those other guys. It's a refreshing change from guys who might see the letter as a status symbol more than a responsibility.

Wait a minute...don't you have a shot at it, or is your user name just a status symbol?:sarcasm:
