He is committed to a 200' game. He covers a great deal of the ice with his speed and it's very rare that he blows the zone without possession. That has helped both Tage and Skinner since they both need a bit of a boost in that regard. Tuch's filling multiple roles for that line.

Never seen this before but a pretty cool insight on how he grew up through his dads words!

Imagine if Botts had proactively acted like this for Reinhart...

Reinhart didn't even sign long term in Florida why would he commit himself to a rebuilding team in Buffalo? Sure if he would have signed a 7 or 8 year deal at <$4M that would have been amazing, but it's completely implausible.

I don't understand why people believe Buffalo refused to sign a willing Reinhart long term. The guy is pretty smart, his moves have been well positioned to maximize his flexibility. He's had 3 chances for long term deals and hasn't taken any of them.

Now he'll be 29 at the start of his next deal and get a team to put down a big number for 7 years. The last two years it'll probably be a contract teams wants off their books, but until then YOLO.

If I'm Reinhart (or his agent) I don't look at the end of the 2017-2018 season and think NOW is the time to sign an 8 year contract with Buffalo. If they ask my number would be high. He knows Eichel is fed up, Kane was traded, and RoR just forced himself off the team; the entire roster is a tire fire.

I'm pretty sure it came out that one of the things that upset Sam was that Buffalo didn't offer him a long term deal and instead offered him the 1 year. After seeing Eichel and Skinner get locked up for 8 years, I'd imagine that had to sting a little.

Maybe that's the story someone put out but it doesn't jive with what's happened. He didn't sign long term in 18, 20 or 21.

This is directly from Sam himself in an interview after he was traded.

“I’ve truly given it everything I could have,” Reinhart said on a Zoom call. “For whatever reason, my contract situation has led to this point. I had always been prepared to sign long-term. But the reality of the situation was it was kind of led to this, where there was some decisions that had to be made. It was a tough spot to be in for a city that has given you so much over (seven years).”

So Adams looked at him in 20 and said nah, then Florida did the same in 21? I'm sure he was prepared to sign long term for the right about of money.

Back to my original point: I'd think anyone wanting to sign a 7 year contract with buffalo in 2018 was probably insane.

This is still Coach's son Samson Reinhart we're talking about. He born to do three things:

1. Be the Captain of a team
2. Say the right thing
3. Live rent free in Mike Harrington's head
