Considering that Sergachev was taken right after him, that would have been a good start. MacAvoy a few spots later. On the bright side for Buffalo, Edmonton and Vancouver made far bigger mistakes with their picks in that draft.

I think it was Berube deciding Alex was a bad influence. W Nylander makes way more adjustments while looking like Alex though. I swear I saw Alex standing on the spot for 15 seconds at a time and do stutter starts because he was unsure if he should commit. He plays like one of those guys that doesn't trust his instincts and the NHL doesn't leave time for a guy to be reasoning it out.

He’s only waiver exempt for a month I’m pretty sure. If he gets called up and then sent down again after 30 days he’ll have to be waived again
