I think the only reason he was in tonight is because Robertson is a negative on the ice. They have nobody better that is healthy to put in
I liked hus effort tonight. Was decently effective, and not a negative at all. Tough penalty with the timing and positioning.
He's still a 'half a play' guy imo and should not be dressed when everyone is healthy.

His skating and skill-set has been very disappointing to me. Just doesn’t look dynamic at all with the puck.

Would rather neither. Replacing a guy that is underwhelming for another guy that that is small, falls and is underwhelming does not make for a better team.

We need a bottom six clean up. Robertson and A. Nylander are like AHL level stars who don’t bring offense. And we have a big glut of low personality and low impact guys like Holmberg, Dewar, Kampf when healthy. Reaves shouldn’t even play.

Other than the blonde hair, blue eyes, and the same last name, the only thing the Nylander brother's have in common is being lazy.
Alex clearly didn't get the all world skill his older brother apparently was gifted with. Will without skill won't get you very far in the NHL. When you have neither it's an even worse outlook.

Like father like sons. The whole lot of them appear motivated by money more than anything. Except Alex who doesn't appear motivated by much of anything.
He's happy just cashing in on the family name.
Riding the coattails of his older brother and father to the tune of several million dollars already. If I could use my last name to get me a high profile well paying job and score chicks that's what I'd be doing too. It's called silver-spoonism and Alex Nylander is nothing but a nepo baby.
Not that I condemn him seeing as I'd take the easy way out too if I could.

Right now, it's very hard to see why he was drafted so high. I don't see any flashes that would even remind you he was drafted 8th overall.

I think he's a little snake bitten with his finish. His lack of hockey IQ doesn't help him get out of his slump.
I want to like this guy as I know he works hard every shift; if only others could have his work ethic. The reality is he's just not an NHL player right now. To me he's like Samsanov if Samsanov was a skater.
