Killorn is going to be an UFA. What’s he gonna get on the open market?

Hit career highs in goals (27), assists (37) and points (64) last season. Plays PP and PK. Proven playoff performer. Two Cups.

He's 33/34 and can get a long-term contract with dummy years. It would be foolish of him not to cash in big time. Playoff performer, lots of playoff experience, two rings -- he can make bank if he angles it right. Seven year deal arranged with two dummy years, why not? Cap is going up big time isn't it?

If I'm his agent I would push for a long deal with dummy years.

Seven years 12m - 10m - 8m - 4m - 2m - 1m - 1m is a cap hit of 5.43 and 38m total, this is probably the upper limit of what he could get

Seven years 12m - 10m - 5m - 3m - 1.5m -. 0.9m - 0.9m is a cap hit of 5.76 and 33.3m total, this is still a massive 4 year 30m contract with effectively three dummy years for the big boy

Seven years 10m - 8m - 6m - 3m - 1.5m - 0.9m - 0.9m is a cap hit of 4.33 and 30.3 total with a take home of 27m over four years

GMs will want more reasonable terms but he's going to have a cap hit of at least 5m and at least four or five years.

Wait….what? Lol

I was gonna say 5M x 3 would be solid for him.

Honestly he’s a guy I want chicago to target to play with Bedard. Hawks could afford to overpay him if they need to.

But your estimate is bananas.

This seems extreme to me
He's a good player.
But a complimentary guy, not an incredible talent, and soon past his peak
Seems to me something like 4x$4M is more likely ~high-end outcome
BUT it only takes one motivated buyer ..

I think he would be a good fit for a spot on a line with our young forwards in Nashville. But I wouldn't offer term past 2 years, and I'm sure even in this Cap constrained off-season somebody will come along and offer him 4 years. 4x$5M seems like a reasonable price? :dunno:

Palat got 5x6m last season. Should be in the ballpark, right?

What teams might be looking to sign him (outside of Tampa)?
Palat was 31 when he signed the contract and turned 32 when the season basically ended.
Killorn is turning 34 when the season starts. I think 5 years is asking for trouble unless you can really get that $ low.

He's gonna get like 5Mx5yr or something absolutely silly. If I'm Chicago though I go and offer like 7Mx3yrs so you get that old man energy with Bedard with a cleaner capsheet for his extension.

He said after the second cup he would never leave Tampa (hinted that of Seattle picked him he would retire). Now at the same time I really don't see a sane human being turning down millions of dollars so well see.

I don't think that contract is even legal anymore.

Unfortunately at his age I don't see him improving

5 to 6 million for 3 years though is a possibility.

Maybe gives a good discount to Tampa.

No thanks, 33/34 year old with a lot of recent miles on that body with the Lightning cup runs means there is a good chance he doesn’t age well.

No more then $3m per year for 3 years, if the market pushes it above that Davidson should walk away.

Hawks have 41M+ in cap room for this offseason

Next offseason the Hawks drop from cap

Johnson ($5M)
Zaitsev ($4.5M)
Mrazek ($3.8M)
Dickinson ($2.65M)
Tinordi ($1.25M)
Blackwell ($1.2M)
Connolly buyout ($1,166,667)
Borgstrom buyout ($183,334)

There is no cap real downside or problem with them paying Killorn or someone else $5M-6M for next 3 years

Hawks have 2 players signed beyond 2024-25 = Seth Jones and Connor Murphy (FA in summer of 26)
