I'm surprised his stats are so pedestrian at the U16 level. He was good at the YOG and showed a lot of effort and smarts, with some decent skill. I don't know that his upside is much to be excited about if he doesn't find another offensive level but he seems like a guy who will make the NTDP even just for his character and leadership.

I'd be surprised if he didn't make the NTDP. Wore the "C" for the victorious US YOG team, and played on the first line.

He doesn't have the pure talent of his line-mates Berchild or Hurlbert, but he reads well off of them, and brought some size to that line. For a slightly bigger forward, he's not like a weak skater or without skill. He probably doesn't have super high upside, but is a good player.

Did he leave the NTDP or something? He wasn't even listed as a scratch at the WHC17. Just not part of the roster. Usually they'll list the injured guys as scratches. Combine that with the abysmal early season stats (1 point in 17 games), and it's puzzling.
