Malkin was one year older, but still, rookie season is a rookie season in the NHL.

I agree with everything you said though.

Pretty sure he was right and Malkin was 2 year older he was 21?
He's gonna be 27 this year

So 2 years older than Galchenyuk.

Malkin played against men for like 150 games before playing in nhl.... So not like Gally jumping right outta jr to. Nhl.

Magnitogorsk Rus....isnt Sarnia Sting

Gally goona be a great one....

Could it be fair to say we have a young player in the mold of Johnathan Toews playing for us? reminds me of him more and more everyday

I wouldn't mind seeing Galchy on the left side of the Pleks line to bring some offense to that line, so far it's all Plekanec. Moen didn't do much for that line. Moen also tends to play well with Eller.

Galchy's defensive game is so good for such a young player. MT had him out there defending the lead in the last few minutes of tonight's game.

He's really becoming reliable. You can put him out there protecting a 1 goal lead and you have plenty of confidence. The points will start coming soon, I am sure.

As for putting him with Pleks, problem is you then take away any form of offensive talent from Eller's line until Ryder or Bourque return. Larry and Chucky have some solid chemistry going.

Galchenyuk at the Rihanna concert? Trade him. He's a bust.

Should have drafted Rielly.

Took you long enough. I insisted we trade him the second he posted that the Olive Garden was his favourite restaurant. Beaulieu and his ****** tattoo can GTFO, too.

Even though its obvious that Ryder has played better than Cole. I think Cole was contributing to Galchenyuk's development. Hopefully Gally picks it up bc he was benched in my pool.

Am I the only one who sees that he was producing as a center and has trouble on the wing? It seems like everytime he moves as a winger he as more trouble getting points

No worries here. Vets are in game shape and Gally still has ways before producing at a good pace. He's definitely not winning as much 1 vs 1 battles as he did when he started the year. He has good skating stride, but he will need a better explosion to be effective offensively. Most battles are won in the range of a faceoff circle, so that's why his first 3 steps need to be great.

One thing that is reassuring is that he took some big hits without suffering or being intimidated.

He played 2 or 3 games with Cole on his line, so your theory seems far fetched.

I'd prefer to see him at C, however his last hot streak was on the wing (4 points in 4 games - assist vs CAR, goal @ NYR, goal and an assist vs NYR).

This. Not to mention he tore the OHL a new one playing on the wing. It's not because he's playing wing that he isn't producing. In fact the last few points Eller got, Gally was a big part of, just didn't get the points. If Gally gets 20 points this season it will be a more than acceptable output considering the defensive awareness he's shown and the fact that he missed a whole season of development.

I like Cole as much as the next guy, but really? How so?

Actually i think it was more Prust that was helping his development!

I was just going to post that I think he misses Prust. Nor sure if it is development per se or rather space and confidence.

I think a slot sniper like Ryder will help him improve on that mighty weapon he has. He's already pretty good at going to the net.

He still hasn't gotten comfortable in the NHL with having the puck on his stick for an extended period of time. Too often he'll go to the corner and throw a bad angle shot on net. Shooting isn't a bad thing but that isn't the sign of a confident hockey player. It'll come.
