For anyone who just took a look at Kubalik's stats and saw he had 45 points this past season, don't get too excited.

21 of his 45 points came in the first 18 games. Had 24 points in the next 61 games.

He's a mediocre forward barely worth his 2.5M cap hit. Certainly no center piece,
He’s gonna be useful for the top-9 for one season. He can produce offense off the rush but he’s far from a complete player

Safe to say we’re screwed for next season. Can’t believe all the shit we took from criticizing Dorion. That bottom-6 is going to be horrendous once again and the reason we fall short again, wasting 1 more prime year of our core…

Wings fan coming in peace. I liked Kubalik and Sebrango has a bunch of promise. Why didn't DeBrincat not work in Ottawa? He just didn't want to be there? Because I noticed his goals dropped last season? Could someone provide some insight?

Sebrango doesn’t have much NHL potential… maybe he’ll be useful in Belleville… he’s a throw in in that trade, like the 4th.

It’s pretty much Kubalik and a late first

Most of Kubalik shoals seem to come from the circle on the Pp. if we sign tarasenko there is no spot for him

Debrincat had 4 even strength goals in his last 36 games, so what is your point.
Debrincat has put up number night in, night out for long stretches several times in his young career. Kubalik scoring at a 1.25pt pace for 18 games is a lot more of an outlier for him than it is for Debrincat, and that Kubalik has a pattern of streakiness isn't a super controversial take.

Kubalik is a fine player but I put it at best around 50/50 that he outperforms Matty Jo next season.

Obviously awful asset management, but at least we have cap space now.

Glad this is finally over, was getting sick of always refreshing HF.

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Tatar/Tarasenko-Norris-Batherson
Kubalik-Pinto-Joseph/other FA

That would be pretty sweet.

Not sure why anyone was expecting more than this.

Could have done better on the prospect but this was the gamble we were all happy to take last year.

Get Cat here and hope you could extend him.

That risk cost us the difference between Korchinsky and who ever we take with the 1st Rd Pick.

(Kubalik, Sebrango and a 4th Rd Pick is pretty much a wash for our 2nd and 3rd we included to get Debrincat)

I suspect we'll give the Dadonov contract to Tarasenko, which will make everyone forget about how terrible this deal is, even though giving term to Tarasenko could be a disaster.

Optimism.

We’re replacing debrincst with Kubalik and Norris and korpisalo and another FA prolly.

That’s all I can muster up lol

Lmao, Dorion got Yzerman to pay a 1st round pick for a player that was probably going to sign with them next summer anyways.

This is absolutely awful for us… we turned a 7h OA pick into a late first… Kubalik + 4th is barely worth 2nd + 3rd

That kinda reminds me of what happened with the 2019 first… 4th OA turned into the 19th OA

I can't even be excited for the 1st because Mann will just draft a sub-PPG "defensively repsonsible" forward ranked at #59.

Most of our forwards suck defensively… outside of the ones acquired through the firesale (Norris, Stutzle) and Giroux

Pinto and Greig are gonna be good though
