For anyone who just took a look at Kubalik's stats and saw he had 45 points this past season, don't get too excited.

21 of his 45 points came in the first 18 games. Had 24 points in the next 61 games.

He's a mediocre forward barely worth his 2.5M cap hit. Certainly no center piece,
Debrincat had 4 even strength goals in his last 36 games, so what is your point.

Around the bend
A tweener and the 1st is Detroits choice. Not much value, only benefit is they can have clarity on the roster and cap now.

Just a disastrous sequence by Dorion. 7th overall, 2nd, 3rd for a late 1st and Kubalik. Kind of work that makes it easy for someone to fire you.

He’s not a center piece but he didn’t really play with the best talent. He’s pretty much a lock to get very close to the number of goals DeBrincat had playing on this team.

Saying he’s barely worth 2.5M in this day and age is a bit silly.

tbf he's a great 3rd liner but we need Dorion to get a replacement for the 2nd line.

Squandered the 7th overall pick into Kubalik and a late 1st. Will likely be Dorion's last major move as an NHL GM.
If only the sale could’ve been completed within the original timeline, Andlauer could have saved us from another horrible Dorion stinker. Turning the 7th, 2nd and 3rd into this package one year later is a fireable offense in and of itself. Let alone all the other shit deals he’s done. He’s a dead man walking

Wings fan coming in peace. I liked Kubalik and Sebrango has a bunch of promise. Why didn't DeBrincat not work in Ottawa? He just didn't want to be there? Because I noticed his goals dropped last season? Could someone provide some insight?
