The Avs have played poorly, I don't think that can be denied and yet in all situations:

High danger chances 13-12 Islanders

This STILL should not be a 5-2 game

This should be a 3-2 or 2-2 hockey game. The Islanders have been better, but not 3 goals better. George and Bednar's stubbornness has really f***ed us over. I guess Cmac a little too.

It's what the management should be focused on. The Avs are either outplaying teams or relatively even and they are getting blown out.

Kahkonen can't start a game fast enough, though the pessimist in me feels Bednar will keep going back to Georgiev.

Someone needs to tell Makar to stop trying to be a two way defender. He's ok defensively, but he needs to be taking over shifts shooting, and imposing his will. The team should be willing and ready to cover when he takes it deep.

Getting a budget goaltender was always the plan. Sticking with this failure of a budget goalie is the part I don't like.

It's fine, but I'm sorry Makar isn't taking control, or taking risks. He can walk an entire 3rd or 4th line, but he's playing it safe.

It's weak sauce, his job is offense and possession.

Also helps that he wasted assets and cap space last offseason on dog shit like Wood/Ryjo/Roscoe. Just an absolute masterclass in team management.
