Was that as of a particular date or a particular span of games? I know you like to be vague so you can squirm out of it when called out, but give it a try.
I wasn't vague, and I'm not sure why you're "calling out" accurate information again. It was multiple weeks in December, and also parts of January.

There was a great article written by Dumping The Puck In Is Trendy

He talks about the fact that the majority of teams are dumping the puck in more this season.

Here's two graphs that show the % of dump in change from last year and recovered dump in %.

Dumping and chasing is the best way to go. It simplifies the game. It ensures that everyone on your roster feel like they can contribute.

Whatever this possession at all costs, Engvall circling back, forwards stopping up type of gameplan we had was, was incredibly frustrating.

also leads to big f*** ups in the worst moments

kerfoot's drop pass to no one to keep possession in game 6 against tampa in 2022 being a prime example

just keep it simple, this also limits turnovers on the opposing blueline. Those turnovers cause odd man rushes and lead to goals against

I remember the marner one against montreal, it didn't lead to a good chance, it was an awful goal, but the entire play could've been avoided if he dumped the puck in

Agreed. And over a 7 game series, dumping, chasing and laying hits on opponent's D (like what has happened to us) affects the opposition way more than turning back to keep possession.

Ok what about the olayfffos
I'm not sure the leafs will get a better chance than this season. There are no world-beaters in the league anymore. I expect the leafs to make the conference finals this season, and potentially the finals unless shesterkin goes on a run.

I think the trend in the league is turning away from the possession obsession. Florida showed that having the puck for the entire game isn't necessary.
