Was that as of a particular date or a particular span of games? I know you like to be vague so you can squirm out of it when called out, but give it a try.
I wasn't vague, and I'm not sure why you're "calling out" accurate information again. It was multiple weeks in December, and also parts of January.

There was a great article written by Dumping The Puck In Is Trendy

He talks about the fact that the majority of teams are dumping the puck in more this season.

Here's two graphs that show the % of dump in change from last year and recovered dump in %.

Dumping and chasing is the best way to go. It simplifies the game. It ensures that everyone on your roster feel like they can contribute.

Whatever this possession at all costs, Engvall circling back, forwards stopping up type of gameplan we had was, was incredibly frustrating.

also leads to big f*** ups in the worst moments

kerfoot's drop pass to no one to keep possession in game 6 against tampa in 2022 being a prime example

just keep it simple, this also limits turnovers on the opposing blueline. Those turnovers cause odd man rushes and lead to goals against

I remember the marner one against montreal, it didn't lead to a good chance, it was an awful goal, but the entire play could've been avoided if he dumped the puck in

Agreed. And over a 7 game series, dumping, chasing and laying hits on opponent's D (like what has happened to us) affects the opposition way more than turning back to keep possession.

Ok what about the olayfffos
I'm not sure the leafs will get a better chance than this season. There are no world-beaters in the league anymore. I expect the leafs to make the conference finals this season, and potentially the finals unless shesterkin goes on a run.

So was there a particular date or span, or will you continue to be vague?
The exact last date that the poster would have seen it was January 11th, 2023. Is that too vague too? Do you need the exact hour? The minute? Second? Wouldn't want you to have to lift a finger to look up that unnecessarily detailed information you want. Ironically, you harass me about weirdly exact details, and yet you don't seem to care that the original post I replied to isn't even technically correct. Minnesota only has 48 GA. The standings page counts shootout losses as a GA, but the stat page doesn't.

There - you did it! Now that wasn't too hard, was it? (Except for me, trying to get you to give a straight answer.)

Was your childish "hour, minute, second" to hide how hard it was for you to provide accurate information to substantiate your statement?

I'm well aware of the difference between the standings page and the stats - I understood the difference and wasn't asking about that, but about your vague statement.

No, it wasn't. You should have been more than capable of finding that unnecessary information on your own, if you didn't find my clear and accurate statement sufficient.

Wasn't all that vague and you got multiple answers.

It's a tough look to throw mud for a page or two then cry the second you get it back.

After 20 games they are where I expected them to be, granted they haven't gotten there the way I thought they would but they are where I expected them to be.

I may not have expected them to go on a 7-1 run with 7 forwards out in order to get to the top of the division but I saw no reason why they couldn't get to the top of the division and they are.

And after tonight they will have 1 game in hand on Florida, and 3 games in hand on the conference leading Devils.

Matthews is back either Wednesday or Saturday, Knies is eligible to come back Saturday, doesn't sound like Domi is far off especially considering he wasn't even ruled out of last nights game until the last minute.

As this team gets healthy I see no reason they can't be not just the top of the division but also the top of the eastern conference.

Can debate Marner all day and night but at the end of the day. Toronto under no circumstances should issue a contract to JT or Mitch Marner until a successful playoff run is complete.

No success. No more cart before the horse.

Florida won't be relevant. They have real defense issues. If they don't find a way to replace what they lost in the off-season, they will be in trouble.

Yeah, this seems like a year where Florida, Boston and Tampa decline by varying degrees and none of the Red Wings, Senators, Canadians and Sabres take a big leap forward. Our chance to win a division here.

It doesn't get talked about a lot but our cap situation has been helpful. We kept everyone (except Bertuzzi) and were able to add Tanev, OEL, Hakanpaa, Stolarz, and Paccioretty. Most of our divisional rivals have been dropping important players due to cap the past couple of years.

I know it's sacrilege, but Dubas should be given credit for managing the team's cap situation. They are actually in very good shape even with Marner and Tavares being resigned. Treliving also gets credit for brilliantly controlling the cap spend on goalies.

Exactly.

Want even more "sacrilege"? The flat-cap Covid era really hurt our plan and structure. While it is true that the flat cap impacted all teams it is also true that it hurt some more than others. Not all teams spent to the cap before it flattened, and not all teams locked up four guys for 50% of the cap that they forecasted would be rising by 5%+ every year.

A "clear and accurate statement"?

"2022-2023"
"December 2022"
January 11, 2023"

You made the initial statement, so why should someone else have to do your homework? To have made the original statement you must have already had the information.

But yes, you finally got there. Good for you.
