High-end RD in his prime at a reasonable AAV... that's gotta be at the high end of "rentals". I'm putting the quotation marks since he wouldn't be a pure rental.

If retained, and if Seattle can take a contract back, he'd be at the very high end of rental type deals - a first round pick and a prospect, or a 2nd and a really good prospect.

I mean, I expect if my Habs want to move Savard (RD with another season after this one, similar AAV) to be able to get something of interest, and Larsson is superior in every way (other than a Cup ring), so I expect he'd be highly sought after.

With Hall’s career seemingly over, the 1 for 1 trade isn’t that awful. He had the 93 point season in Jersey but it’s been all down hill since
I never thought the trade was as bad as people made it out to be. In fact, if Larsson was signed long term on the Oilers he would have been more valuable to them than Hall for the last 3 years, and going forward.

Solid RD on a really good AAV and another season after this. That’s going to be a 1st + good prospect / good young roster player.

He would have a nice robust market. First plus good prospect easily
maybe.
Or maybe kinda less, like a 2nd.
There just aren't an infinite amount of 1st's floating around
And contenders are realizing they need ELC guys to keep their 'window' open

but you may be right, it only takes 1 buyer ...

If he didn't spurn us and clearly didn't want to be in Edmonton, I would've absolutely love Larsson back on the Oilers.

Just a solid stay at home shut-down Dman with a bit of an edge. We really need him back.

I think that's a bit dramatic. He needed a change of scenery emotionally, it was clearly a personal decision... but times change and who knows, maybe he feels there could be some unfinished business in Edmonton.

Agree it would be great to have him back... he's been exactly the missing piece and Ceci is a pale replacement.

Another year on his deal. Plug and play top 4 dman. All it takes is one agreed there.

It probably wasn't a great trade - but Larsson was the kind of player they desperately needed, and is missed now that he's gone.

If I was the Oilers I would definitely be sniffing around if Larsson would be available. Yes he wanted out of town, but maybe he found the grass wasn't greener on the other side of the fence.

Devils offer a 2nd round pick, with an extra third if they make it past the second round of the playoffs
