ROR got a big package…. And has been a lot worse than Henrique the last 2 seasons…. While playing on a much better team

People out to lunch if they think Henrique isn’t worth a 1st, or a good prospect + 2nd

Pens are helped with a solid 3rd center but until they address Carter, Dumo and Teddy B and Jarry is back and playing as a top goalie.

That was two years ago he was waived, during the shortened covid season. Whatever was wrong with him then, he's put it far in the rearview and has played really well. Not relevant today.

Other than that one strange partial season, he's been the same steady contributor his entire career.

The value (if any) of a guy who is not producing and has 4 years left at $5.8M is very different than a guy who is producing and has 1.5 years remaining at $2.9M (assuming retention). Anyone pointing out that he was waived 2 years ago is comparing an apple and orange.

Having a versatile veteran top 6-9 forward on your team for $2.9M (and not much term) is a steal. NHL teams should be willing to pay for that, particularly if the ducks take some salary back.

Nope. Time to sell.
Exactly. The prospect of paying a premium for an expensive 3C is like installing silk curtains on a house that is worthy of being condemned. Would be a monumentally stupid misuse of assets, and would make me nauseous. This team being in some “arms race” with metro rivals is a bad joke.

Much better to write the season off completely, and wait until the summer when we have much more cap room and (likely) a new GM.
