If he puts up 35 goals this year I don't think you are getting him back for 1.2 million/year. Someone else will offer him way more. I don't think he can continue his ridiculous shooting %, but he got elevated in the lineup and should now get more shots, so he doesn't have to maintain an insane % to score. Amadio is getting 2.6 and has a career high of 27 points. Duclair got 3x3 off 26ish goals in 67 or so games with the Sens.

IF Gaudette can continue to produce (100% not sure of this - i doubt it) and racks up 35 goals, somebody is paying him. If he clicks with Stutzle and can finish his setups then $3M is peanuts, especially if 1-2 years in case it was a one year fluke. They spent way more on Tarasenko, Dadynov, Perron, for arguably less results.

Wait until the end of the year to make a decision...or at least the trade deadline. Kid found his niche with Timmy. Let it ride out and see what happens.

But it is a fun story. Nice to be on this is of it after a trade.

I was pretty happy we signed him then bummed we waived him and happy he cleared.

I didn't predict this start tho. Was expecting him to grind out 15-20 goals playing in our middle six. But he is showing that although he isn't an elite all around player he definitely is a well above average goal scorer. If he continues to ride with Stützle I can realistically see him around 30-35 goals by seasons end.

Any time you sign a guy to league minimum and he prices himself out by over performing you already won. I think at this stage Guadette will just be happy with a multi year one way deal. Something like 1.5x3 or something.

He was scoring before Timmy. It got to the point they couldn't ignore it, and had to move him up.

He has a nose for the net, and having Reino +Ostapchuck able to compliment the 4th line makes that move much easier.

If Dorion ran the ship here, he would sign this guy like he did with Colin White. We all know how that turned out. Wait and see is the approach Stevie needs here.....I cannot imagine if we did not have Audettes goals where this team would be though.

I'm still weary of extending him... but.

For all those bringing up signings like Greening, Smith, White, Butler ect;

Butler and Greening did it with Spezza,
White and Smith did it with Stone

Gaudette was doing it on the 4th line with Cousins and MacEwen... he worked his way up to the top line.

Idk if it's sustainable, probably not at the level he's been going at, but credit where it's due, he's done it regardless of who his linemates are.

It's pure ignorance. Laugh and mock what you don't understand. Spiritual>Mental>Physical.

Good for Gaud getting in 'tune' with the resonance.

If he scores 30 goals he's going to want a lot more than 1.5 million and i don't blame him.

Some team out there will pay 4 million and up with term for that kind of production, even if it's a career year.

Could be our new (light) version of Debrincat without the minus 492
Not that Gaudette is good defending but ADB was a special (morron)

Pretty impressive lol. I remember at the beginning of the year we all thought - correctly - that Green would deploy him on PP2 as one of the point men, but he's taken that and run. Mixed with some bullish work from the previous iteration of the 4th line, he's a natural.
I don’t think that is correct at all, but I guess it depends on the definition of “beginning of the year”.

At the end of the exhibition games, a lot of people thought that Jenik &/or Ostapchuk would make the cut and Gaudette would be out of luck. Also, after several (numerous) games, lots of posters questioned whether promoting Gaudette up in the lineup was wise.
