Kind of weird that Hedman is so good at limiting attempts against not so good at expected goals. So basically he limits total shot attempts against really well (by playing in the offensive zone?) but when he does allow them they are pretty high danger?
Might be too aggressive, odd man rushes.

but its a small sample size. We forget, analytics worked in Baseball due to it being isolated instances AND 162 games.

Fascinating that half the D on this team are from within 29 picks of the 2016 draft.
Also, 5 roster spots on this team from the first 66 picks of that draft, none of which were Ranger picks. Gorts magic!

Bro hes 6'6, smooth skating. The high danger are prob ones where he got outplayed

I posted this on Jan 26th.

I'll see your January 26th, and raise you April 6th:

Fox is the smartest young defenseman I've seen in decades. He's great defensively because he stops plays in the neutral zone more often than not, and along the boards, he has an uncanny ability to come away with the puck while being checked the likes of which you just don't see in the NHL. Offensively, he's got 70 point upside once he gets on the 1st power play and has a couple years under his belt.

Quietly on a near 70 point/per 82 pace this season.

Which I think is also pretty close to his production over his last 82 games played as well.

Hell, if he was just about the offense he'd be a stud. The fact that he plays standout defense and makes all over the ice is nothing short of elite.

and people were bitching about trading 2 2nds to get this stud a full year earlier then we could have.

@Edge do you think Adam Fox is our true franchise player (don’t cheat and say we have like five franchise players )?

I think at the moment he has a rock-solid case to finish top-3 in Norris voting. You might be able to argue he’s the best defenseman in the NHL after Hedman.

This was an underrated play last night. He's waiting and sucking in Van Riemsdyk to sling the pass through his stick and body. Not even looking at Panarin, bullet pass on his tape. This is a defenseman......
Fox’s entire game last night deserves to be broken-down shift-by-shift, analyzed, and publicly distributed.

The Flyers had no f***ing idea how to handle him. None.

I would say in a world where we have "potential" franchise players, Fox might be the one who's most consistently fit the profile this season.
