Phone battery at 23%. It's definitely a sign.
Yeah, it's time for a new phone.Phone battery at 23%. It's definitely a sign.
Yeah, it's time for a new phone.
I still don't think Makar wins it even if he wasn't hurt. Hedman had it at the 2 week mark this season in the bag. But totally agree that Makar is going to be the next "default". If Fox remains as good as he was this year, he may win when he's close to 30, Makar has a down year, and it will NOT be Fox's statistically best season.I feel like Makar is going to win the award most years moving forward, so this is Fox’s big opportunity. The only reason Makar isn’t the surefire thing is he got hurt. Makar may still win anyway. If Fox doesn’t win this year, he may not have another chance for a while.
It allows for added posturing during negotiations. They all know it's BS.He already is what he is. I don't buy the narrative that being voted the best increases his salary substantially over being voted the second best.
Agent: "My client is one of the best defensemen in the league."It allows for added posturing during negotiations. They all know it's BS.
Close! But more likeAgent: "My client is one of the best defensemen in the league."
Drury: "Yeah, but Hedman got 10 more Norris votes. That's a $2m reduction in AAV."
And then his agent leverages the Norris to push it up to 5 x 8.2.Close! But more like
Drury: "We like Fox, good looking kid, good looking. Real, real good looking. We all really like the look of this kid. Smooth skating, smooth skin, chin thing going on. But Hedman is just a bit better looking, and taller. Besides, our profile clearly stated 6'+ and multiple Norris' only. 5 x 8 is what we can offer."
Agent: "Now we know what Dolan sees in you. Passion."
People vastly overestimate how much the individual awards actually amount to in contract negotiations. And then his agent leverages the Norris to push it up to 5 x 8.2.
Like, in all seriousness what's the number expected to be?
Considering he forced his way on to the Rangers I think that gives us some leverage knowing he wants to play here and only here. He’d want nothing more in life than to win a cup as a Ranger too, I think out of anybody he’d be the most willing to take a hometown discountAnd then his agent leverages the Norris to push it up to 5 x 8.2.

they're predicting Fox to win it
I don’t understand why people even give a shit about his salary. He already is what he is. I don't buy the narrative that being voted the best increases his salary substantially over being voted the second best.
Yes, hockey writers have proven to be very sympathetic to Tom Wilson and the DOPS.I’m worried about the fact that the Rangers couldn’t keep their mouths shut about the NHL might effect the voting.
I don't. His cap hit however concerns me greatly.I don’t understand why people even give a shit about his salary.
Facts. I give him max dollars at max years and don't feel bad about it.I don’t understand why people even give a shit about his salary.
