PDG has been a solid bottom-six player who's had some streaks of excellent play as a Canuck. And he's paid his dues on the farm on a number of occasions as well.

Megna was comically misplayed all over the lineup for absurd amounts of time by Willie D, and was largely pilloried by the fandom for being played well over his head.

I don't think these two are comparable at all. Credit to Megna for sticking around as a journeyman player and getting his name on the Cup, though.

Abbotsford doesn’t play again until Friday so if anyone is sent back, it should only affect the team for one game.

Sure helps having Linus Karlsson back and a healthy Wolanin.

That's true IMO. Wolanin showing best form he's shown for quite a long while.

Hope Karlsson can bring something to Vancouver but not overly confident.

DiGuiseppe, at his best, probably ahead of someone like Sasson although Sasson has been better than expected.

DiGuiseppe, at his best, probably ahead of someone like Sasson although Sasson has been better than expected.

Sasson has played really well. Hats off to Abbotsford staff. It was always talk to of them doing their best to get Sasson to be a 13th forward in the NHL.

Nothing against PDG, who's a hard-worker and a decent fourth liner. But he's on an expiring contract and it would almost zero sense for the Canucks to ever offer him a new contract.

I'd much rather see a younger player like Raty, Karlsson, Bains or even Lekkerimaki get more minutes at the NHL level this season.

Come post season PDG fills the need of low event minute eater that can PK if needed. He has some vet savvy that those young guys don't, so I don't find it to be any surprise that Tocchet would want to see him back up at some point.

Is the nature of the NHL. If you ever talk to guys who had up-and-down careers or even ones where they were regular for five or six years, you get the message that there’s always someone looking for your job. In PDG has been a serviceable player for the Canucks, but there’s no real future here. The young guys are coming up behind him. I remember talking to a Canuck who said after his first four or five years you’re always looking over your shoulder about who wanted to take your job.
