Cuthbert is still good, though I do think he’s become a bit of a Leaf homer since he became their home broadcaster
I mean… he’s pretty good defensively... and it was a good play.Cuthbert is a crotch sniffer of toronto media.
Matthews had a simple backcheck and he proclaimed thats why hes in the conversation of the Selke.
Especially with Binnington in goal. No lead is safe.I have never been a fan of Chris Cuthbert, the Sportsnet play by play. I have found him to be very bland amongst other issues.
But he hit a new low Monday night-with about 13 minutes left in the Canada-Finland game, he made it quite clear that a Canada-US final was a certitude, which his sidekick proclaimed as well (his mame escapes me).
I have played the game and faithfully followed the game for over 60 years-and I groaned at this claim, cursing him for saying it, knowing what could happen (and almost did). Where does he get off saying this? When was a play by play allowed this latitude?
Shame on him for such a total lack of professionalism, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Lucky for him, by a whisker Canada won, but he shouldn’t be allowed on. the air.
There is nothing else to talk about so....Imagine being upset over this
Meh, it was 4-0 in the third period. We all thought the same thing. Calm down.
Yeah, but the shutout scenario is just as inconsequential as the thing you’re reverse pearl clutching over.Clutch the pearls harder.
Seriously what a weird thing to be offended about. Gord Miller goes out of his way to mention a goalie is on their way to a shutout every time AND has commented that he does it to spite superstitious people (because he doesn't believe in it), now THAT is worth being upset over.
Also, like he's doing the broadcast for CBC. Of a team Canada game. Like yeah, he thinks they're gonna win like everyone else in Canada.Meh, it was 4-0 in the third period. We all thought the same thing. Calm down.
The humanity.Cuthbert is a crotch sniffer of toronto media.

The humanity.
Should we prep the gallows?
I don’t agree. I think people read things into what he says. The broadcasters always talk about star players....Cuthbert hasn't been the same in years, almost forcefeeding viewers "certain views"...
Could you give an example of such corporate script? This ridiculous thread aside, Rogers’ corporate guidelines and scripts have definitely rendered him less enjoyable.
Absolute legend during the heyday of CBC Sports/HNIC though
I have played the game and faithfully followed the game for over 60 years
Took him 14 years to finish typing it with 2 fingers60 years – and a single HFBoards post?![]()

“....and there goes BigDaddyLurch for the parallel park....it’s a tight spot...but he does it in one! Oh baby!”...Bob Cole was Bob Cole...in my head, he's the narrator of my Life...![]()
