i like her play by play. i knew her rep and didn't realize i was listening to leah hextall until midway thru a game. i can see why other people aren't into it, but im sick of the generic baritone voice guys. but i dont care about a whiny voice, to me she is kid a

Somehow Leah hextall is on the air again for games as ESPN has her at ice level for the knights kings game tonight.

I cannot believe how awful she still is after a summer to reflect on the damage she did to the eardrums of audiences last playoffs.

Why/how did ESPN make the decision to keep exposing fans to her random "contributions" to these broadcasts??

Maybe I am suffering from Stockholm syndrome but I am happy that she is not announcing the game. She can't hurt us between the benches.
She's reduced to a Jar Jar Binks level of annoyance.

The games she was actually calling were unwatchable. Tyson Nash is as bad as they get and I’d rather listen to that clown than Leah. Hopefully they have her in minimal roles this year.
I was hoping the same but the fact she's doing game number 2 is not offering a lot of confidence

Once you realize its literally only HF nerds and eternally grumpy twitter warriors that complain about her, you'll realize shes not bad at all and its all in your head.
It’s a few people who take it as far as OP and start a new thread weekly or hate her as a rinkside reporter (I don’t hate her there), but it’s more than a few people who find her annoying as shit a PBP. It’s a pretty strong negative response compared to basically almost all other commentators including other women in hockey.

To OP, I mean, she’s harmless enough as the reporter. Honestly I think she should be at the desk with or replacing Messier or Chelios. She seems personable enough and that desk needs something different.

As for the “somehow” there’s gonna be a super loud minority of people who take up arms if ESPN fired or removed her after one season. Or 5. She’s here to stay at least until a few other women get hired, but espn really just cares about your name rather than the quality you bring.

She's much better between the benches than calling the game.

It's a positive step.
