I don't mind Cassie as a panelist.
At times, as an analyst. all she's doing is play-by-play of the replay, which is like, "Thanks Cassie, I can see that too."

Well in fairness, it's difficult for any contributors to bring something new to the game. Most games I think " I'm not learning anything new from this analysis" regardless of who it is.

It's all just air filling really, that's their role. Then you watch a commercial or two.

To be honest, I don't tune in to hear the announcers. So, I just shrug my shoulders good or bad.

I think I figured out why Hextall is so brutal. She's incapable of quickly stringing together, or flowing between events in the game. Ie: "Morrisey Dumps the punk in - pause for 3 seconds - The Penguins collect the puck - pause for 3 seconds - and they'll clear it out of the zone" There's so much dead air that she's lucky PBP people don't get paid by the word, because she'd be on the wrong side of the pay gap.

Sarah Nurse needs more air time for SN like they gave her last year. She’s super intelligent about the sport and articulate along with being a good looking charismatic woman.

I don’t think people are inherently against Leah Hextall because she’s a woman, I think the problem is she sucks at play by play. She doesn’t have a large vocabulary and struggles describing the action on the ice. Play by play isn’t easy and she should be working minor league games effectively before the highest level.

It's not sexist to say it. I want women to thrive in any role they take, but pretending a bad announcer is good because she is female does a disservice to the movement.

Tonight's Pens/Jets game was the first one I got to listen to her call a game. My God, she's terrible. It's the complete lack of emotion she uses when calling the game. It's like she's a tour guide reading from a pamphlet. She'll describe a dump in to start a line change with the same excitement she'll describe a goal being scored.

I started to watch the game tonight and had to change the channel to the other game that was on.

If you put Leah Hextall, Kelly Hrudey, Cassie Campbell, Drew Remenda and John Garrett on the Oiler broadcasts, I would watch the entire game muted.
