It's amazing that people still believe there's a gender pay gap and that women that live here are oppressed.

The ones who perpetuate the whole "women in the western world are oppressed" nonsense are just looking for an easy way to distance themselves from any sort of criticism or personal failures. They're getting a taste of meritocracy and they want no part of it.

I can’t read the article because it’s a pay to read site but I will say that the more money you generate the more money you will make. If the male Soccer team generates more than the female team the men should make more and not be payed equal just because it’s a women’s team.

Just like the UFC when Ronda Rousey was fighting. She got payed more than any other fighter because she generated the most money

I mean, there is a slight one at the extremes and it exists for obvious reasons when we use generalities: child rearing being a female only capability that holds them back on career paths, women are typically less forceful and content in positions and not as aggressive in seeking advancement, women are not readily gravitating to blue collar work.

Again, generalities and there are exceptions but these are all reasons. Factually, job for job women are ACTUALLY slightly out-earning men in 2021 and the gap is widening as women have taken the lead in education metrics. So please, tell me more of you social justice nonsense about how women are oppressed in the West and not earning.

PS; I'm just carrying on the conversation since you agreed instead of simply re quoting the dude spouting nonsense above.

You wanted to argue with someone about "social justice nonsense" so much that you just argued with someone who made the same point as you.

Typical.

I'm not arguing with him, he responded to me and I furthered my answer. Typical.

I know, I was just furthering my point by having a conversation with the guy who highlighted my answer.
and now you can pat each others' backs all the way down the path to being caricatures of real people. You can say that it's closing (although it's not in recent years, the figure is something around 80% instead of the 60% that it was when it became a big colloquial talking point) but you can't say it's a myth. That's just... embarrassing. It varies industry to industry (and race to race, though some of that is also industry demographics) and there are even a few token examples of women coming out ahead (health care) due to their numbers but overall, "job to job" across the board... yeah, not a myth. I was going to go source bomb you but there are so many to choose from that it's like dedicating my time to arguing with flat earth people.

Like... just look at how you say things. You realize that "child rearing" is the act of raising a child, not giving birth to one, right? Either parent could do that if they were so inclined, but the thing is... why would the mother, when she's statistically likely to bring back 80% of the income the father could make? You see how it's a self-fulfilling thing because of social trappings that you don't believe exist?

Again, none of this is true, like at all ( I could add a myriad of links and it wouldn't matter to you, I'm sure ). Any study disproves everything you're saying here and if you don't think women's career paths are held back by having children then you're just not reading any of the literature. Ultimately I don't care, live in your nonsensical world where you think it's the oppression Olympics still in 2021, enjoy that.

You heard it here, folks. We're all equal, what a glorious day, thank you blog post.

I would love that you think it's a fantasy world if you didn't have the ability to impact people I know.

When all else fails, move the goalposts. Who said we are all equal? True equality doesn't exist and you're naive to try and achieve it, the only thing we can aim for is equality of opportunity which does exist now.

I just don't like having diversity just for the sake of diversity.

Pick best person for the job, end of story, that how real life does it in most situations.

NBA does it right.
Ernie Johnson with analysts Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille O'Neal.

Great on air personalities that gel as a crew.

If the NBA did it like the NHL it would be Big Country Reeves, Sheryl Swoops, Magic Johnston and Muggsy Bogues.

Because we have to be shiny happy people, uggggggggggggggh.

I heard her for the first time a few weeks ago and I couldn't decide if her call was awful or brilliant.
