Jets wouldn't even consider trading a 1st for a LD like Ferraro, who would be clearly behind Morrissey and Samberg.

I think the Jets need speed and size in their middle 6 to play with Ehlers and maybe Perfetti. Granlund is an upgrade on Namestnikov, but that would be a very small line. Jets would be better off paying more for a player like Rakell or Nelson or O'Reilly. Those players would move the needle enough to justify the high price.

I think you're optimistic if you think Cole is going to be top 6 in the playoffs. One good game probably doesn't get him there. He's been demoted out of the top 6 for the past month.

Thus you can put one of your grinder wingers, like Nino, or Iafallo up with the 2nd line, balance it.

And drop Namestnikov and Perfetti down to a 4th line to spread out talent.

As for Ferraro I don't know where he is at now. But he's a legit top 4 d-man, 20 minutes a night for 5 years running. Those don't come cheaply, especially one with size, which if you are upgrading on Stanley is the need. Extra year of term is worth something....I'd be curious what you think a guy like that is worth on the market.

If he's been offering a guy for 2 years then he's overvaluing Ehlers, or he's looking for something very specific that hadn't been offered. But 2 years is a long time.

Go to Long Island and ask for the nick name “Scott Mayfield”. Don’t question when the blonde haired guy from the St Louis area gets in the car and becomes an honorable member of the Winnipeg Thrasherjets blueline.

I can’t really decide. It’s the type of concept that has a ton of asterisks and I just didn’t want to.

Boston wouldn’t give up much for a rental ofc, assuming they retool. So the concept needs some mutual desire between the bruins and Ehlers and he’s so close to ufa. Assuming Boston gets a signed Ehlers because it’s what they secretly both want then I don’t think the Jets have to add much at all. Maybe a first. They’re getting an extra year of Coyle. If Boston isn’t sure they want Ehlers and/or Ehlers isn’t sure he wants Boston then the deal just wouldn’t happen and that’s no fun for deal guessing nerds like me.

Ehlers had not been actively shopped at all. If he was he would have s ton of suitors. Ehlers is a line driver with speed to burn. Can score, is a good playmaker and has been one of the leagues top 5on5 scorers for the past 4 years. Only this year had he been put on the top power play unit and the results speak for themselves. Oh ya and he is only making 6 mil per. Teams would have ben lined up to acquire him.

I like Risto's size and physicality.

Not sure what M Frost brings to the Jets that they dont already have.
