We need a 3LD, doesn't have to be Top-4 D.
We need a Top-6 forward, though, possibly a 2C.

A spare 2nd pairing-level RHD couldn’t hurt. It has to be someone who is better than Miller since we’re pretty low on depth on the right side.

Rental Pettersson as a #5 would be overkill but thats what playoff contenders do. Gryzclyck too is available. Offensive #5, good on the power play, defensive issues.

At F Rakell is a hot commodity, has some term. Would part with Bunting too at the right price. Neither is a C though.

I’d trade for Dumoulin to play on our bottom pair LD, then try to acquire one of Pulock/Andersson to partner with Morrissey.
As for the 2C, we need to decide if we are promoting from within, in which case we need a short term while one of Lambert or Yager is ready…or if we are looking to acquire a long term solution through trade.
I, personally, don’t have any interest in short term 2-3 month rentals like Granlund or Nelson unless they are cheap. I’d prefer a trade for Cozens or another C with term…but not JTM…I don’t think he’d work in our dressing room or within our leadership group.

Granted I'm pretty sure I suck at HF trades, but the main thought was Provorov for the 2026 1st. I don't believe he would need retention to get that in general, but CBJ can retain and I haven't followed Lambert's development but did like him his draft year.

Personally I'd be interested in a long term RD like a Weegar (I know he's not available).

The Jets also need to know what will happen with Ehlers in the off season. They'd be foolish to trade a young prospect that they might need as soon as next season (like Lambert or Chibrikov) that would need to fill in for Ehlers should they not re-sign him.

If they're going to put a young piece like that on the table it should be for a long term forward. Otherwise I would think they would use lesser trade pieces to fill in depth.

Iafallo won't get traded he's a glue guy.

Lambert won't get traded because the Jets don't trade prospects they develop, other than Brendan Lemieux.

Jets will trade draft picks. If you're lucky you might get Chibrikov, because I think it's still sticky here, in a Ukrainian heritage town, for a Russian player. And he and Askarov crossed paths somewhere in their career.

Ferraro's a nice add, it's just completely uncertain here what the coaching staff thinks of Logan Stanley. Hell they could end up as d-partners.

The thing about Mario is he's signed for another year and a reasonable cap hit. I only mentioned Iafallo because the surface numbers didn't match the contract so I included him as a cap dump.
