He did the same thing last year, only had 9 points in his final 11 games.
It seems that he starts gripping his stick too tight in pressure situations. This trend in combination with his inability to rise to the occasion in the playoffs makes me wonder about the mental side of his game. With that being said, he’s obviously far from the only player on this team struggling with that. Hopefully I get proven wrong this postseason.

Playoffs are too far off from regular season
Used to be playoffs started only few days after

Players are going to get rusty

Knies had a good game with the puck, made some good plays along the boards and also made a couple terrific passes in traffic. The one thing he'll need to get better at is positioning and play away from the puck. It felt like he got lost in the offensive zone when Nylander had it.

I'm not sure if he'll play when healthy but I think he should. It felt like he had a better impact than Lafferty, but the sample size is very low.

Game 82 win over the Rangers. Did we just secure theoretical home ice vs New York? Feel bad for Mitchy there, feels like you almost wanted that to go to OT so he could get to 100. But we'll take the win...
Sure it would be nice, but it should also motivate him to perform in the playoffs. What good is it if he had 180 points but Leafs perish again in the First Round? This is a team sport, winning is everything.

Nobody even talks about Gilmours big seasons, but we talk about the missed high stick.he took from.Gretzky in the playoffs or the wrap around goal in Game Seven double OT.

Take it as a sign from God, "you should focus on the more important issue" (playoff success).

i'm just happy there weren't any injuries. The real season starts now. Prove that you belong.

4th vs 13th in the league.
