The russian coach is the worst of the tournament. Yes, worse than Torts, Torts at least tries to coach, the russian coach just stands there. You could exchange him with a basketball with a cap on it and see no difference.

Horrible turnovers and bad backchecking is killing Russia, while Canada is in 5th gear as usual and making it tough on them.

Best team performance by Russian so far. They are playing a lot smarter than usual. Still they overhandle the puck at times.

Russia PK pretty solid. They knew eventually where the puck was going and closed in fast.

First WCH game i've watched, why do they use the extra forward rather than using 2 defenseman on the PP? Has it worked well? I'd think it'd be useless and it would be more rewarding to use one of the high quality defenseman we have.

Happens in the NHL all the time. Stamkos has a better/as good shot as the defensemen do. When he hits the net that is.

Russia actually has to get a quality chance. Its been one and done. Average shot, Price stops it and Canada quickly clears the area.

They arent going to be Price with average shots from the outside. Regardless of whom is shooting it [with the exception of Ovechkin].

You saw how Price saved the shot by Panarin on the give and go, right? Completely effortless. Most highlight reel saves are caused by a mistake in positioning or execution before the play itself.

This isn't always true. Sometimes a fantastic goalie covering up for an overmatched defense has to make highlight-reel saves. That mantra is so pervasive it's usually taken out of context and is applied wrong.
