If it was Czechs/Euros/NA vs Finland I can see them not caring. But this is Russia. No way will the Finns bend over. THEY DIDN'T IN 1939 AND THEY WON'T TODAY.

Where's all the Finns at? I know you guys are out but this is Russia. These games always matter.

It's kind of funny that a topic of interest in the Finnish press today has been that certain someone is bringing certain huge somethings onto Finland's border, with range to reach about to Laine's hometown.

I can't tell who or what, because it's on the verge of political.

On completely other note, anyone remember what that song was in that Young Guns 2 movie?

Not much emotion involved here. Just want safe hockey, no injuries, go with an opportunistic attitude. Try new stuff in game if things don't start to click early.

I expect Finland to play hard despite the fact that we can't advance anymore. They want to win at least one game in this tournament, rookie coach Marjamäki most of all. Lots of young guys out there who want to make an impression for the future. Russia will play us hard now because they need the win, and I would be suprised if we don't have an answer for it. Plus I think we'll have the crowd behind our back.

There is of course the possibility that Russia takes an early lead and then Finns just lose composure and throw the game away. Could be a wild event, I hope we see some innovative lines for Finland. Bit of a win win situation because I wouldn't mind a CAN-RUS matchup, but obviously want to see Finland win too.

You have our continent pulling for you.

Go Suomi!!

This experience will be good for the young lions. They have played the best players in the world, they'll get better.

It's a weird situation - we have not been in such for a very long time. I expect that we'll show up and fight, but you never know - certainly if Russia gets an early lead, the team might just not care enough. I certainly am pretty indifferent as a fan, but hopefully there will not be a total collapse.

Yes, of course win would be nice and save some faces to not go 0-3 and end it with a win. But it is more important for our future to gel up and look for new chemistry, our old generation is not gonna be in the next best on best tourney. More room for kids!

Sucks I don't get to watch Pavel one last time on the small ice, considering Russia's going going home after this game:)

I want to see Laine - Komarov. They know all about him in the KHL. We too can put a Leaf onto 1st line duties if we like to.

Haula to center to make it K-H-L.

Agreed. In that sense, if it gets for instance RUS-FIN 2-0 after 20 min I hope they limit Komarov's TOI. If it gets 5-0 after 40 min, then I really hope they play Komarov the remaining 20 min

Yeah, either CAN-RUS OR CAN-NA will be great to watch

If the Toronto audience knows what's up and wants to see more of their golden boy, they had better cheer properly for Finland in this match.

Little pissed on NA for not taking care of Sweden yesterday, so somewhere in my mind I think "Why would we help them to reach semi's at all?" But at the same time I don't want Russia as a potential winner either, so I don't really care at all how it goes. Plus Finland didn't do their job so players don't deserve semi final..

To be honest I went from liking Komarov a lot to almost hating him for crushing that opportunity to equal against SWE.

Whole team NA gonna show up to cheer on Finland and Matthews is gonna rock a Laine jersey.

Book it.

They are.

Everyone in Canada are pulling for the Finns.
