Bad shot by Par there. Matthews wide open and instead chooses to try and force it to the net. Great play in the corner by McDavid to get it to the point, though.

Haha Kruger. My buddy always does that trick in floor hockey, always trips the goalie out.

Your analysis is terrible.

Matthews played on a garbage team at the WHC and still played great as well.

Matthews and McDavid are helping each other, not one player being a product of the other.

 Coming from you, if my analysis of that line is terrible in your books, it probably means its extremely accurate.

I've watched the games, and I've seen what McDavid has done on that line. It is most definitely a product of McDavid more then anything.

That's fair. But I dont think anyone should be changing there opinions on the two guys based on a 3 game tournament.

Matthews is quite obviously benefiting from playing with McDavid as well. Much more favorable minutes, and McDavid is creating a tonne of free space for his linemates with his play. He doesn't lose puck battles and is constantly drawing 2 and 3 defenders on him at once.

Both are also benefitting from 55's position, passing and two-way awareness. It isn't a 2-man line, folks.

loved it when kruger was trying to fool the na-players by swinging the stick behind gibson  would have been a nice trick play

And McDavid has benefited from Matthews. Matthews was playing great since the start and was not with McDavid. McDavid was nearly invisible and really stepped up once Matthews was on his line. Neither is a product of the other, but it helps having two immense talents on one line.

It's interesting how you only see it for one person.

Exactly. It doesn't take a genius to see this. McDavid is playing unworldly right now. Ofc everyone else on his line gonna shine too.

You're right.

It's actually a one man line.

McDavid is doing everything on that line. He's creating all the space for the other two to allow them the freedom to get a little more creative.

When McDavid isn't the one leading the rush, or with the puck, Matthews and Scheifele aren't nearly as effective.

People trashing Karlsson do they not see Stralman and Hedman getting rekt too ? Jesus lol Stralman has taken 3-4 cups of coffee since yesterday

He isn't being handed the minutes for no reason. He is getting these favorable minutes form solid play on the ice game in game out. The value of McDavid on his line has to be taken into account for sure, you certainly right there. I just think your giving it a bit to much weight based on what I have been seeing.

Has Mcdavid got a video game controller that is giving Matthews elite hands, fantastic skating or does he have some type of mind control technique that is drastically improving Matthews hockey iq? Never mind the silly comments about the board play. He's worked quite well by any standard but by a standard of a 19 year old playing his first set of games against the elite and nhl size he's been fantastic
