Honestly the worst showing at a major tournament I've ever witnessed from a US team. Tortorella shouldn't be permitted to be a stock boy, let alone head coach.

It was a different game at that point, but I'm at a loss as to how that Tampa team won a cup with Torts behind the bench. Really speaks to Lecavalier, St Louis, Richards, et al.'s ability to perform in spite of being thrown into a difficult situation.

You're forgetting about Torino. Canada and the US were equally atrocious. Difference is we learnt not to build a team that way again and the US management hasn't. Take the best talent available and roll with it. ****ing Callahan was going to be on this team.

Is Schneider going to prevent the US team from giving up outnumbered attacks and from playing soft as charmin in front of him?

This is why those harping on who is in net sound so silly. There are a number of bigger issues hindering the team.

How many chances has the US team generated compared to their opponents? They've been badly outplayed.

Schneider, Suter, Pavelski would safely be on Canada imo. Then you have guys like Wheeler and Parise who would always be in the discussion.

Pavelski would not make team Canada as a center, possibly winger, but that's not a given. Schneider and Suter are not good enough to make team Canada. The only lock to make team Canada is Patrick Kane.

I have not used the fact he's won a Smythe and two cups as to why he should be the starter: he won the job plain and simple and your boy **** the bed. Be mad at Schneider for not playing well when Team USA actually played better in front of him then they've played the last four periods.

What's embarrassing is thinking that having the best save percentage last season makes you the incumbent starter out of a stacked goal tending trio. Quick is the incumbent US starter and he played the best in the pre-tourney games so there you have it.

Also primarily Devils and Ranger fans bemoaning Quick's presence.
