Yeah, we totally f'd up against Canada but this is whole different day and we're coming for the W. Already beat North America, this shouldn't be any harder. Come on, show 'em boys!

Forgot about Hertl and don't see why wouldn't Hudler make the team.. alright, Vrbata probably not but Hudler is a clear lock for me.

Look at the line-up above, and tell me if Hudler is better than someone of these players... Okay, Pastrnak, he's still very young but I want him there with Krejci, he's fantastic talent, and his skillset is great.

better than Niederreiter at least

Tickets are $5 CDN a piece on ticketmaster and $6 US on stubhub.

Thousands for sale. No one wants to go to a game for $6 in Toronto I guess.

Yet, fans will pay $80 for a weekday snoozer with the maple leafs during regular season

How much NHL games are @ 3:30PM on a weekday? It's not that Toronto doesn't support hockey as you're making it out to seem. It's that no one can afford to miss work to go to this game. If you ask, well, why buy the ticket? Well, the way the NHL sold the tickets is you had to buy a season pass-like thing for this event. So to get one ticket, you'd have to buy tickets to every game. A lot of people I know are in this situation where they can't go to any pre-5PM game, regardless of team, yet have tickets to every game.

Doesn't stop the blue jays from packing the stands during weekdays.

The Blue Jays rarely have games pre-5PM on a working day. Usually the day games are on weekends, or long weekends. There's not many games scheduled pre-5PM on a weekday unless it's to make up for a game.

Well to be fair there were thousands of empty seats for Belarus vs Czech Republic too at the Olympics I imagine

The stadium in Sochi was a lot smaller and you have half of it reserved for media and other athletes. Also no stubhub so if you wanted tickets you had to get them the old fashioned way. From a sketchy guy outside the stadium, which you couldn't access the security perimeter without a ticket to an event.....

All of the European games are $6, 3 pm or 7pm. USA Czech will cost you a solid $12. :)

No it's not just because it is at 3:30pm. The USA vs Czech Republic game at 8pm on Thursday is $12 on stubhub.

Curious to see how this game turns out. More natural animosity (many of the European players are in nations that plays/loses against the Czechs a lot).

How is the USA "basically cooked" if Europe wins? USA can still win the final 2 games (Canada/Czech Republic). It would then be a 3 way tie with the tie breaker being goal differential. Canada would get in because they won 6-0 and likely will have a good goal differential, but USA could slaughter Czech Republic like 8-0 and end up with better goal differential.

Canada could lose both their final games...which seems to be a scenario no one has considered...stranger things have happened...

but this team is stronger than any other of those teams (svk,ger,sui...)
