The slower team tends to get more penalties...
Lol
Skating speed does not determine penalties. Both 'penalties' called against Russia weren't penalties as such imo.

Exactly. McDavid not as much but lol just wait for Leaf fans to nitpick Eichel in every way to prove Matthews is superior. It's already started.
4-2 Russia
Calling it now. The big guys will step up
I'd like to know who they are. Give me names.

Eichel hate is quite easily explainable. He will always be tied to two players. These two players cover at least 80% of the HF fanbase so the odds are against him.
I don't think there are too many better players in the entire NHL that fit better with McDavid than Matthews and Scheifele.. their styles just mesh so well and allow McDavid to carry through the neutral zone with speed which he loves to do. They're both big, strong on the boards, protect the puck well, and make solid passes. That line is scary good. Team NA also has quite possibly the hottest goaltender from last NHL season continuing to play at a very high level. They're going to give any team in this tournament a rough time unless they can somehow be knocked off their game of speed and transition.
I don't see where they get these penalties from, both calls were questionable so far.
Verdict after 1 period: team NA leads, but they're letting the Russians play, much more so than Sweden did. 1-0 doesn't mean much at this point, since the Russinas have shown they're capable of locking NA in their own zone.
McJesus left Datsyuk in the dust.
It's hard not to root for Matthews, he seems like such a nice kid. He and McDavid look great together.
As a Finn I'm so hyped for Pulju to be playing in EdmontonJust wait until McDavid and Pulju lace them up together. Pulju is by far the fastest skater of the 2016 draft IMO. Kid is a burner. Him and McDavid will be beast mode just you wait.
