I'm going to go ballistic if some **** like that happens in a game that matters.

My jersey gets tucked pretty much every time I take a shot and it pisses me off. I see more guys pulling a tuck out than intentionally rocking the tuck during most games. How out of touch and just flat out stupid does the NHL have to be on this one? I get the glove tuck and the ripped pants, but the jersey tuck rule makes no sense. This coming from someone who hates the tuck both physically when I'm playing and visually when watching.

If the jersey is tucked in you won't be able to read the inevitable advertisement that will go there...like CHICO'S BAIL BONDS

I don't recall anymore where/who the tucked jersey originated but we kids were doing that long before Gretzky appeared on the scene. I also don't recall if it was a style or just an equipment deal though I suspect it was just the cool thing to do. yeah, that was it.

it really is a non-issue but because it's Semin............... well............among many other things, the guy scores two goals, the first for the team this season and the second, showing off to fans one of his signature shots but "christ Semin...hahaha Semin..........Jesus...............ridiculous!

Muller chuckled about it. who cares? I seriously doubt Semin got warned and thought, **** you ref........Muller - "yeah, we're aware of it...........Semin didn't do it on purpose...........".

don't know anything about this new rule but it seems goofy as hell. I suppose we'll find out the what for about it.

I bet noone even gave it any thought but this would seem to be an equipment staff issue. in Semin's case it may have something to do with that lower back pad thing he wears and something that they will have to figure out how to tie down somehow. it is probably something he will have to get used to a bit though.

oh well....no big deal.....but it's a good thing he was penalized for a jersey malfunction/new rule otherwise some would be left confronted with the fact that he just scored a couple of goals in their first game last night and have nothing to be critical about. sheesh.

I've done it on occasion as well- when your jersey is too baggy, it weighs and binds when you try to move your arm. Tucking it in on the side keeps it from doing that, which is why you see guys with the half tuck, invariably on the side of their shooting hand. It's not an issue when you have a well fitting jersey, but if it's habit and that's how players are comfortable...

It's a seriously asinine rule, and I can't see it lasting long.

I was only there the first 2 periods since I had an 8-ball game at 9PM (won 4-0 if anyone gives a ****). But the Canes were CLEARLY the better team at that point in the game.

From last night I thought Dalpe played decently from my vantage point (314), but not nearly good enough to play himself into the open top 6 spot.

Welsh, despite the goal, was borderline invisible. I still think he's better suited to the wings.

Lindholm was solid but don't expect a Jeff Skinner type impact from him.

The 4th line was god-awful, Westgarth especially. No reason to roll that line out if the Jackets aren't playing goons that night, which they weren't.

Murphy has the raw ability to be something special. Could have easily had a 3 point night last night. But the defensive deficiencies mean they need to ease him into the roster as our #6/PP specialist for the time being.

Gerbe was everywherem if he keeps this up I don't see any way he's not on our 23 man roster at the start of the season.

Ward was left out to dry. Absolutely nothing he could do in the first 3 goals.

Gleason-Komisarek... why? That was awful.

Bellemore was actually better then Komisarek, but Komi also got the tougher ice time. Brett looks like he'll be a good #6/7 guy down the road.

Staal-Semin was its usual thing... that's a very VERY good thing. Bowman didn't kill that line but he looked like he couldn't keep up from a skating standpoint. Good guy to have as a 13th forward as he's capable of decent offensive output here and there, but absolutely nothing more then that.

nothing else worth noting.

What was it about Dalpe that had you view him as playing decently? I saw 1 good back-check, and 1 drive to the net where he mishandled the puck. Other than that, he was a non-entity. Just curious what you saw that I didn't.

The thing about Bellemore is, he's 25. There's not going to be much more down the road. His shot needs to be nowish.

Seems like these bigger Dmen sometimes start 'making it' in their late 20's. He looks Jay Harrison'ish, in that he's big, physical, and somewhat dependable. But wouldn't want him in the top 4.

about last summer.
One of your fans came over and told us that "#6" hobbled off the ice for the CBJ. Thought you might find the update interesting.

Defenseman Nikita Nikitin, who was struck in the right foot by a blast by Carolina defenseman Ryan Murphy on Wednesday, did not skate and might be out another week, Richards said. Nikitin has a dent (yes, a dent) in the rear portion of his foot above the heel. He was limping today and pondering modifications to add comfort to a new boot protector, but said he felt lucky that he broke no bones. His skate was cracked open by the shot.

That is one hard shot.

I saw a bit more then that, I saw a few plays behind the net or on the side wall in the offensive zone in the second where he looked to be setting up nicely and just got no support from linemates, typically Welsh who you'd expect to be driving the net in those situations. Setups that would have been high quality offensive chances.

Holy jeez. A dent in his foot!?

That was a particularly painful thing to see, because it's not like it was even on a shot attempt. Murphy was just trying to dump the puck in from the neutral zone and drilled it right off Nikitin's heel.
